Update (01/02/2018): I am beginning 2018 with a 40 lb weight loss goal for the year. I didn't hit my 63 lbs target for 2017, but I am proud that I reached my pre-diagnosis weight of 229. I had to take a break from working out from October-December, so I gained a few back. I entered cancer surveillance mode in May 2017, and after my second cat scan in December 2017, my oncologist still won't say "remission", but he has reduced the number of cat scans from 4 to 2 per year. I call it success! I am still learning my "new" boundaries, so I am balancing my work outs against my day-to-day activities. I hope everyone else reaches your goals and have all your desires met this year. Be blessed!

Update (6/2017): Lol...if someone would have told me that 2012 would see me unemployed, 2013 saw me start my business full-time, and 2014-2017 battle cancer and win, I would have said they were crazy! Truth is stranger than fiction, but definitely more interesting. Since May 2016, I have lost 26 lbs, but my next milestone is 40 lbs, with my final goal being 63 lbs. Spark People has kept me motivated, and I know this time not only will I lose the weight, but I will keep it off.

Update (7/2015): Wow! Little did I know what the last two years would bring. Regardless, I am back with additional 20 lbs to lose. Let's do this!

I just turned 40 and decided that this year I want to take off the 50 pounds I gained in the last decade. :-) I am a certified workaholic, so my excuse has been it is too difficult to work out and work. This year that excuse is out the window.

Personal Information:
I am a survivor of a rare cancer called leiomyosarcoma that began in my uterus and metastasized to my lung before my initial diagnosis. 3 rounds, 4 drugs, 32 cycles of chemotherapy and 2 rounds of radiation later, I do not take it lightly that I survived a disease that usually kills 96% of those it affects. I am blessed.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.
