Hi to everyone! Just getting started on a big lifestyle change. Got some news from the doctor and it's time to get healthy! I have a total hip replacement (a result of congenital hip dysplasia), PCOS, hypothyroidism and some type of mystery liver dysfunction.
I am 5'11" and I have about 100lbs to lose, but I set my first goal at 50. I will get there in about June.
I'd love to have more friends on my feed, so friend me!

June 2011,
Well, I reached my first goal weight--and a little ahead of schedule I might add! I am down 50 pounds and I feel the best I ever have. I have also 'fixed up' my liver and gotten a clean bill of health, on that front. Not to mention, the hip feels so much better. It's not a perfect hip, but it's what I've got to work with and I am working it!
I am not rushing to get to a certain number on the scale, just be healthy, happy and comfortable with my body. I am getting there. I think my next goal will be to get my BMI to 'overweight' instead of obese! That means I have 24 lbs as my next goal!
August 1:
OK, I've been away from Spark for a few weeks. It was almost like a test for me. I really didn't want to rush to my goal weight only to find out that I can't maintain it. So, I decided to try to maintain my 50lb loss for a while before I move on. Well, I have done it. I have maintained it without too much trouble! Yeah me!
Now, it is time to remotivate and get back to Sparking. I'm relatively close to my next goal--it is in sight!

Thank you for commenting on my blog and for the good health wishes! I’m just happy my Dr. listened to me and is letting me see if I can be a success story on the natural meds vs. synthetic. He tried to tell me it wasn’t my meds not working, that I must not be working out enough, but his tune changed when I handed him the printout from my gym showing my progress before and after I started the meds. HA HA! Hope hubby is on his way to finding a job soon! I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! emoticon

I'm sending good vibes your way! I know how much it sucks to be unemployed (I was just offered a job yesterday, not ideal and only part time, but it's better than nothing) so I'm wishing your husband luck in his job search.
