It's 2009 and it's time I started living! I'm a 24-year old professional living in New York City who has developed a case of office ass! In winter of 2009 I weighed in at 10-lbs over my usual weight, which was already a bit high. And at 5'2" (on a good day), an extra 10 lbs shows everywhere. I joined Spark and started my new lifestyle on 01/18/09, and the weight has come off! I'm back to my usual weight but I'm looking to knock off another 5 by remaining active and continuing to stay away from unhealthy foods.

My Goals:
My main goal is to lose 10 lbs by mid-March, then assess from there as to what my new goals will be -- but I'll probably want to lose another 5 lbs or so!

Short-term goal: 7 lbs by Valentine's day. 2 lbs to go!

***UPDATED 03/05/09***
Short-term goal: 3 lbs by 03/15 (depart for vacation)
Less short-term goal: 2 more lbs for my ideal weight, by 04/01

My Program:
I'd like to reach my goal by tracking what I eat carefully, getting in lots of walking during the day, and doing a workout video that incorporates strength moves and cardio days a week.

When I finish my video (I'm about halfway through) I'm going to start Couch to 5K .

I'm from New Jersey but I live in New York with my wonderful SO and our two doggies. He's in law school and I work my dream field, at my dream company! Sometimes I feel like Mary Tyler Moore -- little miss business lady, all of 24 years old.

    Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I love the references to Mary Tyler Moore. I can picture you flinging your hat into the air on your way to work! The pic of Rusty's Obama face is too much, very presidential indeed !

    I haven't been on Sparkpeople for much longer than you have. I'm always looking for more ways to drop some of those bad habits I picked up and pickup some good ones on the road to being healthier and staying that way.
