Hey everyone! I'm a sophmore nursing student taking one day at a time. I haven't had great success in managing my weight before or being happy with my shape. My goal now is to do my best and just try to loose weight in a healthy way. I'm 6'0" and I've always been self-conscious about my body (both height and weight). By 7th grade I was 5'9" and a size 11 so I always felt huge around my classmates. This didn't help create the best self-image for me...

My highest weight was somewhere at or slightly over 200 lbs. and I wore a size 14-16. I never liked stepping on the scale because I just felt gross and mad at myself. I've never been thin or considered myself attractive but I'm hoping that becoming more active and losing some weight will help me become more confident and comfortable in my own skin.

Feel free to add me as a friend! I love giving and recieving feedback and support :)

UPDATE 11/16/10
Alright I think I'm starting to get the hang of this...I had a while where I dropped weight pretty quickly (always 1-2 pounds per week). A lot of this was before I found spark people. Now I've hit a big plateau and my body has been bouncing around 184-187 for the past month and a half and will NOT go below. So I got discouraged and kind of fell of the wagon a bit...I've still been eating better than I used to and exercising more, but I haven't been as consistent as I should. With only 2 weeks left at school I'm kind of dreading going home but hopefully I can continue to get in shape so I look awesome for my semester in Australia in the fall! It's time to rededicate myself.

UPDATE 1/6/2011
Okay, so I definitely didn't keep up with my plan and I am sad to say I'm back to my original weight of 200lbs. But as I get ready to go back to school next week I want to start getting back into a weight loss routine - this means tracking my food and exercising regularly.

Thanks for responding to the blog I wrote the other day (about needing support). I really appreciate your kind words of encouragement.

I am starting to see the emoticon through the clouds.

    Take care,

well the stress is getting better! as long as i get enough sleep and do work whenever i have spare time, taking EVERY opportunity, then it's all good. :) but oh, me, the procrastinator. lol.
next quarter will be better though :) only two more weeks of constant papers!

but yeah it's all good. just working out in general is good for you :) keep it up! you're doing soo well.
and i don't have a problem with working's like therapy to me. i'm basically addicted. BUT i'm also pretty addicted to eating, which slows me down. but this week, i've been amazing about my diet. :D i'm practicing time management a lot better.
