I have had weight issues ever since I can remember. I was drinking Jack LaLane shakes when I was in first grade! I was going to a diet center in high school. In college, I was always dieting and exercising and gaining or losing weight. I weighed 142 for five minutes in high school, and I weighed 148 when I got married. It was never thin enough. And now I weigh 282, down from 313.5. I have been up and down, but I have never been able to stabilize my weight.
So, losing weight doesn't impress me. Heck, I've lost more weight than I can even remember. But it found me again. Keeping off lost weight--now THAT is what I call success. Obviously, it is not a type of success I have tasted before.
For a while there, I just gave up. I had lost some weight, but I just could not seem to lose enough--it was a long plateau and I just could not wait it out. So I gave up.
But I have figured something out. All my adding up in my head that if I lost (blank) pounds a week then I could weigh (blank) by a certain date...they set me up for failure. They were not motivating to me. It smacked of a temporary fix, a bungee weight loss that I would spring back from almost as quickly as it happened.
So now I am committed to eating a healthy--radically healhty--diet. I have cut out dairy and red meat and almost all sugar (it has so many different names, it sneaks in on my every once in a while!). I think I finally get it--this is for life. Not a life diet but a lifestyle choice. and I am ready, really ready, to change everything and anything. It's all ont he table, from caffiene to chocolate to dairy to chicken....I am reconsidering my whole idea of food and how I should and will eat.
My mantra:
In this moment, I am choosing to move toward the life I want.
I am ready, willing, and able to do what it takes to be healthy and vibrantly well.
My relationships with others are better because I take care of myself.
I create more happiness and fun and satisfaction
For myself and encourage my family and friends to do the same.
I seek to use all my talents and abilities and I give myself full permission to shine at my brightest.
I am worthy and important and God made me for great things.
I accept and acknowledge that God supplies all my needs and
He is giving me the desires of my heart.
I live each moment joyfully and thankfully moving forward.

I welcome and appreciate your support!
