Hello fellow Sparkers. I hope you are doing well on your lifestyle change. I am here to join you once again to get my body to a more healthy state. I'm tired, and don't feel like moving most of the time, and hungry all the time. When I do move, my joints or my back aches. My favorite place to be is on my couch and it is becoming more and more difficult to get up off of it. I know that this is my downfall as I have already started having lifestyle related health problems. I work as a nurse and teach others why they shouldn't do what I am doing. I am very unhappy with my hypocrisy and want to change. Today I am on Sparkpeople and figuring out how to make that change. I hope with all my heart that I can do what needs to be done and am relieved to know that other Sparkers will be there for me and also hope that I can be there for you.

My Goals:
More energy

Less joint stiffness

Better health and quality of life.

Increased confidence

Improved appearance

My Program:
Learn triggers for binge eating and try to avoid them.

Make list of things to do when urge to binge eat strikes and follow

Learn to cook healthy foods in a tasty way.

Cook more, cook cleaner, eat out less.

Make appt with MD to request Diabetic Nurse teaching and and glucometer to assess blood sugars.

Start checking blood sugars and and adjust my eating habits accordingly

Walk daily and enjoy it

Yoga stretches 2 x
weekly with a group

Exercise regimen to build muscles used for kayaking so I can go kayaking with my husband.

Continue to do crafts, but pick and chose what I like to do best and don't overwhelm self with things to do.

Personal Information:
I am a 55 year old empty nester who works part-time as a Home Health Nurse. I am married and our two human girls are grown, but our 12 y/o Jack Russell (Mona Lisa) runs the household. My husband and I live in a house on stilts across the street from an awesome view of the water. I love to watch movies, read, go exploring on the boat, fishing and go to local events for fun. I also love learning new things about health and diseases and teaching them to my patients.

Other Information:
My husband and I had a favorite saying once, "Dance as if no one is wathcing" There is more to the saying, but this is the part we liked best.

    emoticon Marie! That is what my husband keeps calling me in the house- the family athlete. I am continuing my interval training to be prepared for the 6/04 Dollars For Scholars 5k event here in Jacksonville. Then I will not look for another one till the fall since the summer months here are just plain brutal.

    No worries Marie! emoticon news about you starting your own business- does it have to do with the internet and your antiques?

    Just wanted to check in and make sure you are healthy and well, being busy is a good thing especially when you have the energy to keep it up.

    Just checking in since its been a crazy April and I have been trying to keep up with my SP logging in and community but felt was lacking in communication with some good friends.

    How are you doing? I haven't seen you in the posts and am a little concerned. I have made a few new topic posts on the team, when you've got a chance check them out.

    Keep on Sparking and believing in yourself. Just move forward and choose those healthy ways.

    Hi Marie,
    Yay, I have missed seeing your posts and can understand if life has been busy. Heck these past few weeks I have actually gone days without having time to get on the computer and have been doing my best to stick to healthy habits, eating within range, and handling stress. My husband returns to work on Monday and will be able to drive himself to therapy after work which is good. Daniel has come down with fevers since last night so I am unsure of his attending school, which I need him to do but will adapt if I have to. Lots to get done and feeling the crunch but doing what I can and being happy with each days acccomplishments.

    We will be going to Myrtle Beach, SC at the end of the month during my son's spring break for the week and it is LONG OVERDUE and much anticipated by us all. I hope to see you in the posts when I too get the opportunity to sit and do some SP time.
