Hey there, I'm Keri. Like many others on SP I have struggled with my weight for years. Since my early 20's I have been up and down on the scale. If I added up my weight loss over the years, I've lost over 100 pounds.

I finally have realized I have a strong, irrational, emotional attachment to food. Food has always been my crutch during times of stress. I am learning how to make better decisions. I am finding that as I age, it is getting more challenging than the time before to lose the weight. Sadly, my battle with food has negatively affected my self image. I am also consciously trying to be kinder to myself. I want my daughter to have good self esteem and I know the best way to teach her that is to be able to model positive self esteem for her. Instead of becoming overwhelmed by the amount of weight I need to loose, I try to remind myself to just make the next right decision!

I love SP! Having sparkbuddies that are active on here is really helpful to me, so please add me as a friend and we will cheer each other on!

Some quotes I have found helpful in my journey:

"You have the choice to beat yourself up or build yourself up."
(this is my mantra) ~Unknown

"Real OPTIMISIM is aware of problems, but recognizes SOLUTIONS; knows about difficulties but believes they can be OVERCOME; sees the negatives but accuentuates the POSITIVES; is exposed to the worst, but expects the BEST; has reason to complain but chooses to SMILE." ~William Arthur Ward

"A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said 'I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, violent one (or fearful), the other wolf is the loving compassionate one (or courageous).' The grandson asked him, 'Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?' The grandfather answered, 'The one I feed.'" BLACKHAWK

Hey! I was just checking in. I forgot to send out yesterday's message because I got pretty swamped. Forgot to even log in yesterday. Tsk tsk. Oh well. Anyways, I'm about to get swamped again but I wanted to tell you to have a nice weekend. I didn't have a real productive week. Still at the same # and my energy levels are so extremely low I hate it. I KNOW that once I get active those levels rise quickly. I just need to do it. Seems to be the theme of my life. Haha! Anywho....have a wonderful weekend and I will talk to you soon.

I seem to be stuck. Perhaps I've hit my ideal weight and just need to exercise more to tone up. Glad to hear you're doing okay.

Hey girl... I'm not sure really calorie cycling but mainly eating LESS. I have just crept up to the very tip top of my ranges in the past few months. I got a wakeup call when I looked back at my beginning trackers... I was eating just at the bottom of my range or a bit lower and the pounds were falling off. So I'm just working with my ranges and allowing myself a few days to eat at the top of my range, a few in the low end, and a few below the range altogether to try to kickstart my restart... not sure if that is actually calorie cycling or not, maybe lol. I will never be aiming to eat above my range though.
