Winter 2018 - 5% Challenge

I started spark
people in January 2013. Slowly, but surely, I lost 50 pounds. And then the wheels came off the bus. My sister MLH148 (my spark buddy!) died in July 2016 and my mother (who loved me through thick and thin!) died in March 2017. I have re-gained 40 pounds!

It's time to get moving and LIVE.

Fitness Minutes: 23,998

My Goals:
I want to lose the weight I have re-gained over the past two years...lose MORE to get to "onederland"...feel better and stronger physcially and mentally...gain strength,stamina and flexibility...and be a more positive, happy, calm, and grateful person.

My Program:
Diet Plan for the 5% Winter Challenge:
I will eat breakfast, and something healthy every 3-4 hours. I will limit salt-bad fats-and sugars. I will take special care to LIMIT SALT. I will drink A LOT of water. I will write down everything I eat.

Fitness Plan for 5% Winter Challenge:
I will GET UP and MOVE every 30-60 minutes at work. I will walk for 30 minutes each day and stretch for 20 minutes each evening. I will continue to attend my Water Arthritis Class at the Y on Mondays. I will LOOK for opportunities to move, be active, stretch and climb stairs. I will GO TO THE Y. And I will "get physical" with my husband.

Personal Information:
I am 58. I am married (no children). I have an interesting and challenging job as a minister with "odd" hours. I love NPR and podcasts and am interested in meditation.

Other Information:
I KNOW that tracking, accountability, honesty, discipline, hard work make all the difference.

    Hang in there with your exercise! If your knee is giving you problems, can you do some arm exercises? Maybe even bicep curls with no weights, cans of soup or something around the house? Just a thought!!
