I am busy with changing my sedentary lifestyle to a more active one, eating a healthier diet, and having fun while doing so... time to quit looking at numbers on a scale and to start living life and enjoying it as I make healthy changes for me! Anyone want to go snowshoeing?

This is my time.
It is time to focus on my needs
not to ignore others,
but to stop always putting myself last.

This is my body.
It is the only body I have,
if I don''t take care of it now,
when will I?

This is my desire.
The desire to break the chains
of those habits holding me down.
To be free, to soar.

This is my life.
There are a myriad of ways to live it.
The choice is up to me,
And I am determined to live it healthily.

My Goals:
To get to know God in a more intimate way.
To get down to a "normal" BMI.
To "find" myself as I transition from full time mom to an empty nester.
To recapture my dreams and live my life to the fullest.
To be able to run a 5K again.

My Program:
When I started my healthy lifestyle journey my weight was 286 pounds, and I was completely sedentary. Much of the food I was consuming was fast food or packaged prepared foods, and other quick and easy choices. The first thing I did was to cut out most of my fast food consumption. Next I added in drinking more water. Finally I added in exercise to the equation (thanks to Spark Guy and his "you can do 10 minutes" concept) I am now down over 50 pounds. I love the energy I have, and the ability to do so many more things!

I am currently transitioning to a Whole Foods Plant Based food plan. My desire is to jump start my body into healthy eating, to get over some of the illness issues I have with food, and of course, to lose some weight in the process.

Personal Information:
~From Colorado Springs, CO
~Certified Sunshine and Warm Weather Fanatic. Certified Snow Fanatic too! That's why I love Colorado~you get it all!! Maybe even on the same day!
~Just gotta get outside!
~The mountains are calling and I MUST go!

Other Information:
My favorite podcast? Glad you asked. It's WhysAdvice with Mike Dagget, aka as FatDag.
You can even download his free app and never miss a show. Great advice as we walk along this health journey we are on. And nope, he isn't paying me for this shoutout, lol! Just sharing what I love.

Woot! Cheering you on for your decision to go plant-based in January! I'm rooting for you! Minimalist Baker is fantastic, as is Isa Chandra (anything she's ever written, though "Isa Does It" is pretty straightforward).

This team is so lively and supportive! I think you'll get plenty of feedback and encouragement here. Do check out our recipe threads, too. And there's great discussions on the ways to make tofu, etc.

I have a non-vegan partner. It's a struggle sometimes, but we have an agreement that she will not cook animal products at home (she does bring in cooked stuff sometimes). The truth is, she eats what is put in front of her. So even if your husband isn't on board, he surely may come around with lots of fun and healthy meals.

Please let me know if you'd like some ideas, or just to chat more about it. Happy holiday season to you!

I just recently joined the Vegan spark team as well, so I thought I'd say hi.

HI Becky!! LOVE that you are working part time and doing something you love!! That's GREAT!!

We are currently on week 5 of the 5% Fall Challenge so on Nov 30th if you come onto my page (or Dec 1st) and click on the 2019 Winter 5% Challenge you can rejoin us!!!

Now if you are familiar with the story of Wise King Solomon who upon hearing 2 woman claim a baby was theirs (Both lived together, both had babies, 1 mother had rolled over on hers and it died, so she had grabbed the living baby as hers) Solomon said he'd cut the baby in half and give a half to each woman. Of COURSE the woman who had stolen the baby was Okay with that, but the real Mom was QUICK to say "NO!!" and so of course Solomon knew she was the real Mother.

SO do MaryAnn and I have to cut you in half?

Shall you be a emoticon or an emoticon A?
