Hello! My name is Livia. I'm currently 27 years old. I have been on a "diet" since I was 17, but during these ten years, though I lost a few pounds in the journey, I have gained about 130 lbs since high school graduation. There's a lot of reasons for that, such as binge eating and lack of exercise, but ultimately, the weight gain came from a lack of self love. It took ten years, but finally I'm at a place (even though I'm at one of my heaviest weights ever) where I'm comfortable with myself. I realize losing weight is not to look more beautiful in regards to society's standards. Rather, losing weight is to be the person I see in the mirror, a healthy, vibrant, joyful woman. On top of that, knowing that losing weight is not a "diet" but rather a lifestyle change helps as well. I'm not cutting back on processed foods because I want to be skinny; I want to be healthy. I want to live until I'm 80 and not die of a hard attack at age 50. I want to be able to run around and play with my future kids, live long enough to see them grow up, graduate from college, and get married. Size doesn't matter to me anymore. Whether I'm a size 10 or a size 0, as long as I'm healthy and happy, that's all that matters.

I currently weigh 288, and although I have a "goal" of 135, it's not a fixed goal. When I feel I'm at my best, that is the weight I will be.

Fitness Minutes: 135

My Goals:
1. Be the healthiest version of me, no matter the size.
2. Learn to eat in moderation. Enough with binging.
3. Exercise 4-5x a week.
4. Drink 12 glasses of water a day.

My Program:
Don't really have an eating program that I follow. Mainly, I'm trying to cut out the processed foods (mostly anything white) and incorporate more vegetables and fruit into my diet. Also, I no longer eat red meat. As for exercise, again there is no specific program I will follow to the T. As long as I exercise 4-5x a week (whether going to the gym or using an exercise dvd) that's all that matters to me.

Personal Information:

Other Information:
college graduate with B.A. in English. Currently working on applications for graduate school.

Worst night ever: at 8:25 (off at 8:30), two stoners came in, and each ordered 8 stack attacks.... so, need 32 jr patties when there was only 5 on the grill. Blargh. I friggen hate baconators. And, the weirdo I am, I used to get nightmares about bacon mushroom melts (first burger I learned how to make too).

The day that I quit was'll understand when you get there. I loved my job, but sometimes...people...grrr.

    Hope all is well deary.

It has been a couple of weeks since you joined SparkPeople, and I wanted to come by and check on you. How are you doing? Do you have any questions? If you need me, please leave a comment on my SparkPage, send me a SparkMail, or post your question in the SparkTeam 'SP Class of April 25- May 1, 2010'. I get an email every time a new topic is created in there.

Just for follow up, remember these quick and easy tips:

    1) Take it slow. Fast weight loss does not last. You are here because you want to lose weight and keep it off. Be patient with yourself and your results.

    2) Use the community aspect of SparkPeople. You will find many friends and tons of motivation on your teams and the message boards.

    3) Blog. It may be nothing more than "I ate too much today, but tomorrow will be better". If you post a blog daily, your friends will learn more about you, learn what motivation you need, and the important part is that YOU will end up MOTIVATING someone!

    4) Get in small bursts of activity. I stop and do jumping jacks for 1 minute several times a day. It is not a lot, but it does not have to be a lot, especially in the beginning.

Lets do this!! I just stumbled onto your page, and want to encourage you that you can do it, just stick to it. If there is a day you want to slack off, then slack off....but the next day begin again. Every day is a new opportunity to start over! Stick with the Shred, I'm doing it too!
