Lord, may we find joy in the privilege of running. Remind us that we never run alone.

Yes I know that You can hear me
And I feel You always listen
Oh my Father up in heaven
Hear my Prayer
Whether tears or joy prevail now
Lord it doesn't matter 'cause You fail not
Perfect answers to my questons
When I pray
When I pray
You open up the heavens
When I pray
You open up the heavens
When I pray
Healing waters flow
When I pray
~Joann Rosario

ULTIMATE GOAL....Healthy for (a LONG) Life
Good health combined with a grounded sense of self is sexy. I intend to dance with my husband, love of my life, at our children's weddings someday and later bounce grandbabies on my healthy knees. I want silver dreadlocs (no longer dyed) to match my silver Porsche (someday).

THE UPDATE: 2009 ended with my accepting a health, wellness, and fitness challenge, and have entered into 2010 by continuing to set short-term and long-term goals. I now see them everywhere. I blog them, talk about them constantly, and added them to my page. They continue to evolve, as do I.

My long-term goals:

1) Buy my pointe shoes and register for the class, which means I will have reached goal weight of 129 for good
2) Continue working out regularly because I really do love it
3) Coax out the best from the people I love and those whom I can influence
4) Manage my frustrations and learn to live fearlessly
5) Write the book
6) Live the life of my dreams
7) Clear my life and my home of clutter
8) Be stronger and more tender
9) Learn Portuguese
10)Try on my wedding dress again, and this time have it be a little loose (our 17th wedding anniversary is next May)-it did! It was a little loose....

2010 weekly goals:

1) 2 workouts per day (at least 60+ minutes)
2) consider everything I eat and be accountable for it
3) keep my calories within range 1200-1500
3) Leave the 140s in the dust FOREVER
4) Thoughtfully commit a random act of kindness that pleases the heart of God EACH day.
5) Run a 5k, then maybe a 10k

This is reprinted from Healthy Reflections. I should have it tattooed on my forehead...

Are you able to focus on your goals?
Calm your mind. Quiet all of the distractions surrounding you. Concentrate on the one task at hand. Often a naysayer can cloud our minds and break our focus. What in your life distracts you? In the moment of need, silence your brain and allow yourself to stay focused. Save your worries about tomorrow and guilt over yesterday's failures for another time. Maybe you need to meditate, pray, or simply spend a few moments quietly gathering yourself before tackling the project at hand. Now is the time for just one thing--reaching your goal. Today, focus your energy, clear your head, and achieve!

Lord, Grant that we may find joy in the privilege of running.
Remind us on this day and through all of life that we never run alone.

My Goals:
To experience "Radical Empathy"
meaning, we must do everything in our power to identify with the other person (in managing conflicts) and their position before fighting for our own. Simply saying that we understand their point of view is not enough--be able to argue it well and present it as if you shared it yourself.
Hmm, what a concept....

from Max Lucado....The state of your heart dictates whether you harbor a grudge or give grace, seek self-pity or seek Christ, drink human misery or taste God’s mercy.

My Program:
I work out at every day because I prefer the Ferrari model of my body to the Minivan. I eat just about whatever I want, in modest portions, aiming for balance and maximum health benefits. I am building good foundational habits that I can live by, share with my family, and model for anyone looking, because you never know who's watching you and trying to do what you do, for better or for worse. I'm pursuing my best life and working to live it right now!

Personal Information:
I'm originally from the southwest, but have deep southern and Caribbean roots and married into a Trinidadian family. I married the love of my life; God gave us two extraordinary children who amaze me every day.

Other Information:
Love to cook, love to create. My secret desire is to be an appropriately "hot mom" by the time my son reaches high school...

Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving. ~W.T. Purkiser
