Happy Summer Spark Friends! My heart breaks with the end of the Spark People we know & love, but I guess you can't stay the same forever!

this is my birth month and it is time for a new me to be reborn! I've gained so much weight over the past year and a half it is awful! so, I need to get back on track and lose the pounds! More importantly, I need to maintain my health!
All my Spark friends and my teammates help me stay on track and helped me reach my goal weight once, so not sure how I will handle my weight loss after august!

My Goals:
I'm a WW member, but have not been following the plan and know if I only get back to it I will lose weight! I am more motivated with summer's arrival! My goals are to participate with my team challenges with the Navy Ninjas and Spirited Underdogs until we no longer can! I want to lose at least 8 pounds by time SP shuts down.

My Program:
WW is my plan. I've just not been following it and once I am, the pounds will come off! I was doing Purple, but thinking I'll go back to Blue and see how I do! The pool is open, so daily exercise will be a breeze, plus I do a Pahla B fitness workout daily! Pahla B gives me my cardio and ST and balance practice!

Personal Information:
My name is Melissa. I am totally blind as a result of Type 1 Diabetes & living a wild life in my teens and early 20s! I celebrated 50 years of diabetes on May 21, 2019! Pretty awesome I've lived this long! I am now battling kidney disease as well as being blind. so, more than ever healthy eating is a priority!

I am married and live in beautiful southside Virginia! I have a wonderful & supportive husband. We have a 4 legged baby girl named Sassy. Yes, she is spoiled and maybe a bit crazy! but, we love her to pieces!
We may be inheriting a new dog, ziggy, this summer!

I am trained in belly dancing & even performed on a cruise ship! I enjoy water aerobics, swimming, walking/jogging, am addicted to Pahla Bowers workout videos and Curves. However, my local Curves has closed and I am doing all workouts at home! But, I am thankful for summer allowing me to work out in the pool!

Other Information:
I love reading and especially enjoy psychological thrillers, mysteries, stories featuring dogs and the occasional occult novel like Stephen King or Dean Koontz. I love a good mystery and one with dogs is even better!

I am a Type 1 Diabetic. Diagnosed at age 4. Losing weight will NOT cure my diabetes. As of now there is NO cure!

Hi! Just wanted to personally say "hello"! For someone who has such a handicap, you certainly do a lot of activities and keep the rest of us going! One of my best friends is blind -- she went blind in her early 40s due to the retina destroying problem. She managed to teach English at a technical college, raise 3 daughters (who have had 7 children), and is taking care of the two youngest grand-daughters daily so her youngest child can complete her teaching degree. She is an inspiration to anyone who knows her. I met her through my youngest son -- through the years we have stayed in touch, although we moved away from the town where the family lives. The lady and her husband raise purebred dogs -- Kuvasz, Rotties, Golden Retrievers and for a time they raised wolves and collies. --Lennie
