Single mother of two boys whom are the lights of my life. I am trying to change my eating habits and become more healthy for me and my children. I love to listening to music, dance, eat at great eateries, cook, workout, spend time with family, and inspire women how changing their lifestyle will help them now and in the future. By making simple changes to their eating and exercising routines. I am my own person striving for greatness one day at a time. I love fitness. My dream is to compete in a Ms. Fitness pageant. Inspiring my spark people family and let everyone know we are not alone. I want to lose fat and gain muscle. Eat better and stay active. (Update) *12-26-2020* Current weight 139.0 I am not to concern about the number on the scale mores about how I feel. I need to get back into the gym and start back walking 2 to 3 miles a day. I felt better, enjoyed the scenery, and my energy level was at a great level. My A1c is 6.2. 08-23-2020 Current weight 135.0 I have gain weight, which I'm ok with due to me not liking my body. Due to COVID-19, stress, virtual school, and working part-time. Trying to implement weight training and cardio into my daily routine. I want muscles, strong core, and flexibility. *06-21-2020* Current weight 133.0 I have gain weight, I'm not sad because I felt to small and lost muscle mass due to lack of exercise. I have a lot of loose skin on my belly, thighs, arms, and butt area. I think I have body dysmorphia. I don't like I look naked. I feel like I'm at my higher weight of 160. BTW, my A1C is a 6.1 last time 5.7, however there was a change in my medication πŸ’Š so hopefully next time it will come down. Next month, I'll be happier when I post my weigh in. 05-10-2020 Current weight 129.3 I have lost quite a bit of weight since 2016. I am not as active now compared to living in San Diego. However, I am no longer a binge eater. I have that under control. I need to get more active and πŸ’˜ the gym again. My goals are muscles. I don't want to lose weight. I'm small enough. It sucks now being in quarantine. Hopefully the gym will open up again so I can become active again. My muffin top has gone and I have a smaller tummy, now I have loose skin on my body which makes me very self conscious. I wear a small (first time in my adult life) and happy 😊 to be this size. I am a type 2 diabetic and high blood pressure. I currently take a once a week insulin and metformin for my diabetes. And 3 medications πŸ’Š for my high blood pressure. I am going to start logging my food and try to start walking again for exercise. 02-13-16 (Current weight 159) I have figured out how to incorporate other ways to workout without having to go to the gym. Not sure if my goal weight of 150 is the right number. (Will find out once I get there.) For the first time in my life, I am stressed and I ate healthy rather than drown my sorrows with food. God is good! This app and website has been beneficial to my weight loss. Thank you sparkpeople! 03-5-16 (current weight 157.4) Back to work, the real journey begins, it is like being on temptation island. I see candy, goodies, and non healthy items. The stairs are my free go to weight loss tool at work. I take them as often as I can during breaks and lunch. They keep me motivate to lose more weight. The best compliment is not being recognize at work. People ask me for tips. My MUFFIN TOP is not too bad. I feel pretty for the 1st time in my life. I love me! No matter how stress life is eat an apple, drink water, and leave your old eating habits behind. Believe in yourself. 03-19-16 weight 163, I am not discouraged due to recent weight gain. I am still having left knee pain which poses a challenge of walking and taking the stairs because I enjoy being active. Excited about my move back home, I miss my family, a lot and I need their support. I am dealing with temptations at work, but I am able to avoid them by drinking plenty of water, keeping healthy snacks in my desk, and bringing my lunch. I am not able to log in and blog as much as before while off work. I am holding myself accountable for my lifestyle. *Update 4-24-2016* weight 158.6 I am proud of myself. Shopping is fun, being able to almost accept my body and imperfections are not as challenging. I am looking back at this journey and I have not been doing this for a year. The information has been so useful. Sparkpeople has been so great with the mobile app. Tracking food, exercise, and water along with small goals can help you along this journey. You can do it, sparkies! *5/11/2016 current weight 158.01* The last ten or how many ever pounds are getting the best of me. I will and can do this! I am happy because, I may fit a 2 piece swimsuit and feel comfortable. I am proud of my accomplishments I still have a LONG way to go. I have conquer the fast food demon, my cooking is WAY better. I want to eat CLEAN, be MORE active, and INCREASE protein in my lifestyle. 5-20-16 *tip* walk in place while logging into sparkpeople. Or browsing the internet, checking emails etc. 6-26-16 (weight 165) I have been eating bad and not exercise regularly. I am focused to get back where I started. 7-1-16 weight 162.6, I am getting closer to 152. I have made better choices recently. Considering I am on my menstrual cycle, I will weigh myself in 14 days to see how much closer to my goal. I really do not know what my goal weight is. Something for me to think about. I am incorporating more protein in my lifestyle. *Update 9-11-16* weight 164.6 I set a NEW goal weight loss 20 lbs by the end of January 2017. Going back to an old staple, drink 8 to 10 glasses of water and boost activity level back to my higher level (when I lost weight prior in January and February 2016). 3-7-2017 current weight 157. Unable to post as often as I did before. Still on my journey, my goal weight is 140...145. All I want to be is active...healthy...making good food choices. This journey will go on for the rest of my life. I want to compete in a fitness day. I am finishing up my bachelor's degree and taking care of my boys...they are now ages 3 & 10. I'm back in Chicago, I thought food choices would be hard and it is not as bad. I miss San Diego...the weather is easier to work out in. Excuses are the past, I am holding myself accountable.

    Ready for a challenge this Summer? The BL Challenge is there for you! We have ten teams that compete with each other in Fitness and Nutrition Challenges designed your promote positive lifestyle changes, and of course weight loss.
