Hi! My name is Sherri. I'm a married 45 year old mother of 2/step-mother of 1, grandmother of 4, industrial lab technician (think 'chemist'). I have been overweight/obese my entire life. I had lap RNY 9/04 with a pre-op weight of 344 lbs. At 5'6", I was definately 'morbidly obese'. My co-morbidities included: asthma, PCOS, sleep apnea, glucose intollerence, arthritic/joint pain n knees, gall bladder failure. I did have complications...2 perforations, 15 endoscopy's (12 strictures, 3 ulcers), lap RNY revision 4/05 (due to the perfs), hernia repair 9/05. I am 40 lbs from goal of 140. When I get within 20 lbs of goal, I can have ps to remove the remaining 20 lbs (loose skin, lipo).
Since having the RNY, I have become hypoglycemic and hythyroid. I take a pill for one and avoid potatoes for the other.
I went from a size 26/28 to a 10/12. Woo-hoo!

My Program:
Calories: 1200-1400

Fat: LT 30g

Fiber: MT 30g

Carbs: MT 100g

Protein: 80-100g

Strength training: 30 min 5X week

Cardio (bike): 12 min 5x week

Walking: As tolerated (having foot surgery 7/06..was up to 16K steps/day before problem started), presently, 5-10K/day

Other Information:
I've had Roux-En-Y (aka RNY...gastric Bypass) 9/04. Have had complications so also have had RNY Revision (4/05), hernia repair (9/05), 15 endoscopys (12 strictures, 3 ulcers), 2 perforations.

I've lost 165 lbs so far. I am 40 lbs from goal, but can have PS when I am within 20lbs of goal.

    Wow, great job! I only have 20 lbs to lose now, but it feels like 100 and the scales not budged in over a month! Very frustrated, but determined to push harder.
    I have seen you in several groups, however, I'm from Indianapolis also, well, 45 min. outside of Indy in New Castle. I have a pretty busy schedule myself and when I have opportunity, is when I exercise and that never seems to be the same time any day.
    I am interested in adding you to my spark friends if you don't mind. It's very motivating to see someone succeeding! Hope to talk to you soon.

    Hi Sherri: I understand you are the leader of this group and since I live in Indianapolis, Indiana I would like to participate in your group. I already have chosen one group, the Christian Group and this is my second choice, although somehow I have other groups on my Blog Page that appeared on their own. I'm not sure just how this all works, but it looks like fun and helpful to our cause for losing weight.... I'm probably more motivated than I have ever been before, even when joining Weight Watchers where I lost 20 pounds and gain it all back, unfortunately. My husband of 51 years has been very supportive and I have already lost ten pounds over the four weeks when I became a member. Hope to hear from you... Kay/Cumbdash
