I officially began my struggle with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome) when I was a Sophomore in high school. It took me almost ten years to finally realize that the problems I'd been experiencing were not normal. Due to taking Metformin, and therefore going on the Atkin's Diet, I lost nearly 40 pounds within a couple months; and then I plateaued. For aaaaages. And then, slowly, began regaining the weight. Discouraged, I gave up on Atkin's, and eventually gave up on Metformin. I have since gained all of that weight back - plus another fifty pounds.

I have also tried every diet that seemed feasible: Slim Fast (three times), Liquid Only (once), eating small amounts of healthy snacks throughout the day (a million times), binging (I do this almost constantly, it's an unconscious habit of mine), No Dairy, No Meat, Low Calories, Low Fat... I even made it two years without any fast food but Subway. All of this has been with little to no success.

So, after hearing about SP from some friends online, I finally, consciously, made a decision to make a change.

My Goals:
+ I'm going to plan out some rewards for myself for each short-term goal I reach.
+ Instead of buying dessert when I go out to eat, I am going to set the money aside and save it... Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should buy instead? :]

My Program:
+ Regular journal entries
+ Concentrate on healthy eating habits
+ Yoga
+ Twice-weekly exercises

Personal Information:
My name is Tarianna, I am 21 and I live in upstate New York. I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, knitting, baking, photography, tons of other stuff. If it interests me, I learn as much as I can about it, and then I do it!

I am working on building a group of friends (local and on the internet) so we can support each other in losing the weight we've been complaining about for so long!

Other Information:
Motivation will get me going - habit will keep me moving.

    Welcome to SP. You've taken a huge step in the right direction. Utilization of all the tools SP has to offer will be helpful, but the support is overwhelming.     Hello and Welcome to Sparks. Your in the right place. You will learn so much with the info here and meet others willing to give you support and encouragement. Don't let this place overwhelm you. We all had to ask questions when we first started so ask if you need help. I have been here 15 months and find it very useful. Find a team that will meet your needs and make sure to post everyday.
