This is me at 183lbs. Still smoking, still eating horribly. I'm the one on the far left. This is me so far. I'm down about 25 lbs now, but still have work to do.I'm about one month in to a renewed effort & 6 lbs down, but I'm most excited about getting some new definition in my arms from swimming 3x a week!I completely over-indulged yesterday and felt bloated and gross this morning, but I got my tail in the pool anyway!I need to make a plan to kick my diet soda habit. Those of you who have done it, I'd love your advice! I'm finding this harder than quitting smoking!!I was just thinking about how I needed to find some motivation, and then this happened. Yep, that's my jeans where my thighs rub. Sometimes the universe delivers what you need. :/I have always looked at vacation as a time to take a break from exercising and eat whatever...this time I'm seeing it as a chance to find a cool new pool for my workout.I haven't lost that much weight yet--but the workouts are definitely changing my body. I can really tell from the side, yay!My 4th of July plan: work off that cheeseburger before I eat it tonight! This may be a strange little bit of a success, but for the first time in a while I'm liking my arms (before on the left)! Progress. :)I'm trying to put veggies where I used to carbs: cucumbers topped with smoked trout and whipped cream cheese and dill for breakfast.Starting to get callouses from weight training- I think this means it's getting to be a routine right? Or, maybe it means time to get gloves. ;)It's 9pm, I didn't want to do it after a long day, but I just finished finished my exercise after putting the kids to bed. Feeling pretty proud of myself.I'm trying to remember the small everyday decisions that add up over time: order 5" sandwich or the 7"? Go for the smaller and see how I feel. I can always eat more later if I need to...May to today- getting there!Thank you all for being such a positive and inspiring crew!! Most of the web stresses me out (makes me want to hide in my chicken hat), but this is a place I can count on for ideas, support, etc. Bravo Sparkers!Kids are in bed. I'm on the elliptical. I'm gritting my teeth, but I will get off this plateau!!Ha! Finally broke the 150 mark after weeks on a plateau. And I have a little witnesses who is happy he gained a pound growing bigger.May to today. Getting there! By next summer I hope to need a new swimsuit. :)My husband just called me "saggy britches", which makes me really happy. Time to buy new pants!
It’s snowing and cold. I’m tired and stressed out from work. But I got my tail into the gym and was grateful for whoever decided to keep the twinkle lights up through February. It was a quiet and pretty reward.Day 2 if getting it back together: I do much better when I prep food ahead of time. Egg n’ spinach casserole for breakfast!Day 4 if getting my act together. It’s late and I’d rather be in bed. But instead I’m cozying up to the elliptical instead.Trying to cut the carbs a bit, so I made a tuna melt salad with grilled avocado. Pretty good!Oh, heeeeeyyyy! A shoulder muscle!Gnocchi, arugula, peas, onions, and parmesan cheese with egg for dinner. It looked so pretty I had to snap a pic. Tasty too!Day 4 of getting my act together: spinach, salmon, pears, goat cheese, pistachios, and balsamic glaze. One of the biggest challenges for me is work travel. This time I’m packing breakfast and snack stuff!! Half my suitcase will be food. 😂😂😂It’s a bit weird, but working for me (down 6 lbs this month). Today’s breakfast salad: black bean burger with my fav toppings. 😂Anyone else’s chart look like this? Let’s make it it stick this time!Today I am wearing a beloved pair of work pants I haven’t fit in for 12 years!! Thank goodness classic trousers don’t go out of style. 😂🎉I made hummus out of leftover frozen peas. Pretty good!I’m a little grumpy about having to work all weekend, but this hotel fitness center is slick! They even have chilled lemon scented refreshing towels. Schwanky!!What I want to do: Curl up in bed with a giant glass of wine. What I am doing: Elliptical in my jammies.I challenged myself to 30 minutes of exercise every day and no alcohol for my birthday month. Almost halfway done, even if a little longer in the tooth! I chose the fruit..but it was a close one!! #breakroomsuccessFor all my fellow Sunday meal-prep-people: We got this! 💥💪💪💥I’m tired from a long day at work, but I’m still getting that 30 minute walk. 💪💪Egg roll in a bowl with fried egg on top. Yum-o.Today I walked 2 miles on my work break...and I ate a bag of kettle chips. Balance right? And bonus, the bag had the best message I wanted to send out to my fellow sparkers. ❤️I love it when I do a morning workout and burned more than I’ve taken in! Yay!Jogged 3 miles in this windy, but beautiful day. It’s hard to believe it’s going to snow 4-8 inches tomorrow.Feeling kinda fierce with my reflective goggles and morning (socially distanced lane to myself) swim. 😂💪💥💦Swam for an hour today. Phew! That was a good work out. My legs are wobbly. 💪💥I gotta work on my drizzle skills, but I’m still pretty happy with this! BBQ Turkey meatballs, pickled veggies, edamame, quinoa and jalapeño, egg and sriracha.Started a virtual fitness and health accountability group with my friends this week. So far so good, and more fun than going it solo. Hopefully we will get to see each other this summer.🎼🎶These are a few of my favorite things🎼🎶 homemade Bánh mì, sriracha, Maggie seasoning and Topo Chico. Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s amazing to me how one unkind comment from a stranger can set my mood off course. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day. May you find kindness, and spread it too.Made it into the 150s for the first time in I can’t remember how long. Yay!I won my weight loss challenge with my friends. Yay! Gonna keep going! Roasted bbq chicken, grilled pineapple, and roasted peppers salad.Ha! I finally got off my plateau. I think my protein was too low for the exercise I was doing. Yay!
