It Only takes One

Tuesday, March 04, 2008

During the past month or so I have been dealing with some very serious health problems and then was hit with some personal issues I was in no way prepared for. I tend to keep many issues to myself, but I needed to share with someone before I just fell apart. I have made many friends here on Sparks and there are several very good friends here at home I could have turned to. However, I was guided to one individual and I just let it rip. Her reply, supported by her kindness, caring, faith, warm heart and her love has turned my life around and allowed me to find that silver lining which always exists if we are just patient and search hard enough. As with the egg featured above, it often takes patience and perserverence, and the answers to our dilemmas often require hard work, but in the end it is all worth while. I am blessed to have many that support me, give me motivation and the desire to continue this journey. I can only say thank you to all that help on my daily walk through this often complicated life. And to Cat; thank you for hearing me and for the kindness and thoughtfulness you shared. I am now sure I can make it through this latest dilemma and will come out stronger in the end. I am truly blessed. Love and Hugs, Elle

I also wished to share the following; it is a favorite of mine and I find it uplifting when I am down.

My Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

(Maria - Sound of Music lyrics)

Elle, I'm so sorry that you've been down and out...I know we all go through lots of difficult things, but you are one of the most cheerful and understanding friend to so many people. I'm so glad you have found someone who helps you and that you are doing better. It seems that we have many of the same likes and dislikes and you just happened to choose music from on of my favorites.
    How about another?

    Climb every mountain....
    Ford every stream...
    Follow every rainbow...
    'til you find your dream.
    (((((hugs)))))

I'm glad that you were able to ask for support from the right place that's awesome. I'm glad that CAT stepped up to help. I am so glad that you've gained perspective...

The point of that song is that we have a choise in life to live in mourning for what we don't have or live in gratefulness for what we do... Our favorite things... Thanks for sharing this. You made me think!
