Well, the show went really well until Easter morning at 10:30. Saturday we WON the Freestyle class, and this morning we placed in a huge class. Then came Freestyle.
All the trot work was the best we have ever done. Smooth, fluid, fun and right on the music. As we did the walk on the long rein, the table cloth on a table near the arena blew up, and Falcao lost it. I didn't fall hard, and the arena had recently been dragged, but I am a multiple concussion person, so it no longer takes much of a blow to bring one on.
I was put on a back board and loaded on an ambulance. I never realized how rough the roads here can be! When we got to ER the doctor met us at the door, checked me out, and let me off the back board. What a relief!
I had to submit to a Cat scan, and it came out fine. No major problems. So here I sit with a slight headache, facing a day off from work tomorrow unable to drive (for tomorrow at least) and no Falcao.
I hope the time off is just one day. As far as riding, it will probably be a week before I can get back on.
It was real cute when they went to load Falcao to go home. He walked past me unconcerned, but when they asked him to get on the trailer, he turned to look at me. They asked again, he took one step and again looked back at me. When he was on, he stuck his head out and again looked. He was so sweet. Even when he was panicked, he didn't go far and stayed near me despite the "Big Red Monster".
I will be patient with myself. I will keep y'all up on what my scrambled brain is doing to me. I hope this day and tomrrow are the only problem days.
I hope y'all have had a great Easter!
