Numbers up, weight not moving

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Because of my lows and my weight loss we changed my meds, from Metformin 750 XR(I think that is it) to 500 regular 2X a day. I was having lows in the 60-80 range and eating every two hours. Now I can't seem to get it below 150 no matter what I do. I ate supper, did not test today at all, rode the bike for the second time today and test at the 2 hour mark and I was at 178.
I need some ideas for how to bring this down more. I am trying really hard to ride the bike or walk every day, drink lots of water, and making a huge effort to track my food. I had sluffed off on that, as there is a lot going on at work and home so been busy. My weight is basically not changing, so not sure what my next step is.
I was hoping that by doing the bike with the walking, that it would jump start my numbers again.
Any help would be appreciated. I changed my breakfast and lunch around. I have been on the new meds for about 2 weeks now. Gave it a whole week of not testing at all to see what would happen. Now been testing sporadically during the day.
Thanks for keeping up this far.

I am hoping to start testing every day again, and keeping close tabs on what I am doing. Maybe another 20 lbs will make a differnece, but my eyes can't take this much longer. They are so blurry, that I know I need to lower the numbers soon.

Sorry I can't help too much with Diabetic medication, but I would say give it a little time, and test regularly. If it still dose not get back to where you want it soon call your doctor.

As for the weight loss, hang in there. Sometimes it just takes a little time for your body to catch up. It dose crazy things some times. I joined the gym and started working out, and gained 10 pounds now 3 months later still have not got that back off. Not sure why, but still keeping my chin up because I feel 100% better now then I did then.

I wish I could help. I'm on 500 mg of Metformin 3x a day and my numbers are still high. She had me on it 2x a day, then upped the dosage. I hope you can bring your numbers down and in line. I'd call the doctor about this. I hope you get there...Hugs, Jean
