Oh totally cool!

Friday, June 06, 2008

I mentioned that since I was separated from my scale while in the hotel room that I didn't know what it was going to say when I got home. I haven't gotten in as much cardio as usual, and for the first couple days in the hotel I went over my calories.

I was afraid I was going to see an increase in my weight from last Saturday. I got home today and went upstairs to change. While I was upstairs I stepped on the scale. I was shocked to see an evening weight of 172.6! I don't know if I was dehydrated or something, or if that's real. If it's real I should have a great weigh in tomorrow. I'll know if it's real tomorrow because I'll be drinking a ton of water tonight while I work out.

I'm very happy to be back home tonight with my own treadmill (much better than the hotel's) and my own TV and Tivo! Ah, home sweet home!

I picked David up at preschool in my uniform today. I was glad I did because the ladies at his preschool always see my husband in uniform and never me. So they talk to me like he's the only one of us in the military. Ha!

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm in a pretty good mood after that surprising number on the scale.

Tomorrow I'm going to take the kids to the Wild Animal Park. Steve's doing his drill weekend so it'll just be me and my kids. We should have fun.

"" So they talk to me like he's the only one of us in the military. Ha! "" People look at me twice when Eric introduces me as a reservist. I really liked when I showed up to Eric's past unit (when he was Company Commander) in uniform and the guys treated me very differently after that, as if I had earned their respect as a spouse w/ military experience and not just 'another spouse' who didnt understand what this all meant.

We also get a lot of questions as we're Army/Air Force and 'how did that happen?' question comes up all the time.. great story on that one too btw.

Considering how small our unit is (30-families here) there are 7-spouses are prior service and/or current reservists - thats 20%! Pretty high.

Congratulations on the great weigh in. I try not to weigh myself at night ... it's to scary. On the rare occasions that I do I find I am usually three pounds lighter in the morning. If the same holds true for you that means you will weigh in in the 160s tomorrow. Won't THAT be cool. I love when I go down a "decade" on the scale! Have fun with the kids at the Wild Animal Park tomorrow.
