Pregnant Again!

Monday, July 07, 2008

Ok, so it is true. I am pregnant with number two.
I am so excited, I am due in February.

Then it hit me. I can't start gaining weight at the weight I am now. Last time I was pregnant I gained 27 pounds. That would have brough me over 215 pounds.

So I have kicked my butt into gear. The doctor said it is perfectly healthy for me to go ahead and lose some weight and everything has changed.

My body doesn't crave junk it craves fruit and carrots. Go figure.

I lost 4 pounds in the last week and I am super excited. 5 more pounds and then I will be where I was when I got pregnant with my son and that is ok with me.

Then when all this is over I won't actually get fatter then I ahve ever been I will be right back where I started and I can deal with that.

Congrats!! and Happy Birthday! I understand about pregnancy weight. I always laughed and said pregnancy was the best diet I ever did. With my son (first) I only gaINED 17 lbs. and had lost all but 2 by the time I left the hospital, and had lost 15 more by my 8 week check up. Of course I did nothing to keep it off and gained it all back. With my daughter (second) I actually weighed 4 pounds less when I had here then when I got pregnant and my daughter weighed 9lbs. 3 oz. I actually left the hospital almost 30 lbs lighter with her. Once again I did nothing to keep the weight off. Now I weigh what I did when I was 9 months pregnant. I know you will be very successful in keeping your weight under control because you have a great support system here. Good luck!!

    Happy Birthday and Happy Pregnancy!

I completely understand what you said about it hitting you that if you gain the same amount of weight as your last pregnancy that it'll put you over 215. I too would think at the beginning of my pregnancies that I better exercise to keep the lbs at bay so that I wouldn't gain MORE weight. Amazingly with both my pregnancies I actually weighed less post-pregnancy than before. In fact, I like to joke that my daughter was already watching her figure in utero because while pregnant with her I had a real aversion to fried foods. They didn't sit well with me, if you get my drift. So, I have to thank her for helping me eat healthier while I was pregnant. ;o)

Best wishes for a Happy Birthday and a Happy Pregnancy!

Congrats!! I gained less with my 2nd than my first and got that weight off quickly, I also craved fruits and veggies. Keep working out until the doc says no more and stay healthy and you will be fine!! I'm hoping you have a safe and healthy pregnancy and an even healthier baby! emoticon

Congrats girly! I know the thought of gaining weight after loosing is rough but if you keep up with heathly eating you will only gain what you need for the baby and not a bunch of icky fat. And then in 9 months we will all be here for you when you start over again. Talk to you OB about what will be a good "diet" for you and the baby.

    congrats again and good luck!
