back to school shopping

Saturday, August 02, 2008

So, I am in the mall yesterday and decide to buy some new back to school clothes fro Drew. The first three stores I go into only had hip hop clothes or skater clothes with skulls all over them. Nothing I really want to send my son to school in. And these were all in the back to school section. Now, my son does have skater clothes and stuff like that, but that is for casual weekend stuff, not school. I finally found some nice preppy clothes at The Children's Place, just chino and some plain polo shirts and button downs.

That's funny the boy's over here in australia, are what they are calling metrosexual. You know they spend stack of time grooming themselves, hair product and cologne's, facial cleanser's. My 16 year old Jordan straightens his hair regularly. He asked me if I could by him a scarf to wear to school, he ties it up around his neck and tucks it into his jumper, with his longish spikey hair he look's like some arty type from the sixties. Ha Ha. The boy's hear are into exremely bright coloured windcheater's and T shirts for their weekend wear. There is a bit of the black skull culture, but that's the minority over here. Pink's purple's light blues any colour of the rainbow is in over! My husband cringes.
I like it, I love colour

I know! It is so hard to find good clothes these days! I say that all the time! My son is 14 and unfortunately, those skater clothes are really what he wants and is interested in. I try really hard to get him to wear nice stuff to school too but sometimes, there is NO having it! Heee heee I just really try to get him the tasteful stuff, if you know what I mean. I'm pretty lucky though. He likes Christian based tee-shirts, so I will usually get him a few of those so that he can feel good too.

Oh school will be here before you know it! URGH
