Mommy for a Weekend = BAD EATING HABITS!

Monday, April 27, 2009

I did horrible this weekend! HORRIBLE! I kept my two nieces (Rilley, 4 and Kloe, 15 months) this weekend. I had an awesome time with them and love them to pieces. But my healthy eating comittment flew right out the window.

I don't feel like I was eating compulsively; I just didn't eat healthy. I cooked...and grabbed...whatever was quick and handy. And cheap. Did I mention cheap? It was a circus! I have new respect for mothers of small children.

One thing I did notice was that I didn't eat compulsively. No, it wasn't healthy, but I didn't sit there and eat a whole bag of cookies like I normally would have. I ate when I was hungry, but didn't overeat. I consider that a big step.

I was also active. I took the girls to the park and played with them. Not to mention that I was constantly up and doing something.

And I was right back to the water-drinking, oatmeal-eating, healthy eater this morning. I'm worried about Thursday's weigh in because I did so horrible this weekend. But it was a set-back; only a set-back. I'm still in the race.

Yup, kids sure do like them quickie meals. I remember when my kids were young...for a while there, if it wasn't a chicken nugget or come with a little plastic toy, it wasn't good enough to eat. Fortunately, they grow out of that stage...

Are you kidding me? You did GREAT! You dealt with the stress of two little picky eatin' visiting youngsters for the weekend, and you fed them what they liked to eat. That's pretty much what we do when we have people we love over. Now that they've gone home, you're back to paying closer attention to the other person you've gotta love...YOU!

Have a super week, being super good to yourself!! Don't worry about Thursday. You're back on track!!!!

PS: Thanks for the very neat goodie! How did you know that I'm a magazine junkie! Hugs!
