Today's Lesson on Motivation and Perservance

Well, today was weigh in day once again. Actually it was only six days since my last weigh in but I was next door to one of the places that I weigh. The biggest morale of this story is something we all preach everyday, it's one day at a time, one bite at a time.

This past Saturday, I worked for my wife at our courier business, which I seldom do anymore. I went back to my wayward ways of the past. For breakfast I ate 4 doughnuts, two sandwiches from Burger King, for lunch I had two, 1/2 pound Wendy's cheeseburgers and for dinner I had chinese. I've posted some of the calories from the Chinese take-out in other blogs but here it is once again for those who missed it.

Two egg rolls =770 calories
one order of Egg Fu Young=5,053 calories

So, I dove off of the wagon, by having

over 11,000 calories for the day instead of my 2300-2990.

To add insult to injury, our grandkids came to visit on Mother's Day and we ordered pizza, which they all love. Don't even remember those calories, LOL

With that in mind, plus the fact that I weighed in after six days, I STILL LOST .9 POUNDS.

Imagine what I would have done in seven days of BEHAVING MYSELF

So, lesson learned,

    It is totally frightening how those calories can add up when you do go off the rails emoticon

    What's even more frightening is to think that before you started trying to eat better, you were eating like that on a regular basis - I often wonder how I didn't wind up even heavier than I did!

    Well done on behaving yourself for 4 days and losing 0.9lbs - now see what you can do when you behave yourself for more of the week........... emoticon

    I agree with Tillie, go back and log in the pizza, the donuts, the Wendy's as well as the Chinese take-out.

    Days like this do happen, especially in the beginning, but later on you will forget you did this - so log it now as a permanent reminder that you are human my friend.

    Congrats on the .9 loss for the week! Tomorrow is another day to try try try yet again to get back on track.

    I know you can do this. One day at a time, one bite at a time, one pound at a time. And yes, even .1 at a time!

    Probably the best thing you can do is continue to log your food on SparkPeople no matter what. And you did that. I think you should even go back and add the pizza.
    So good job on not having selective dining amnesia!
