Using my bad eating habits for good!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

I'm still having trouble eating enough, even though my calories were reduced to
1,310 - 1,660. Either that or I get really hungry late at night. So I'm making an effort to eat right after I get up, and right after exercise. Hopefully this will adjust my appetite. The problem is that I'm never hungry. Well, one of my bad habits is eating in front of the computer or the tv. I can shovel down vast amounts of food, hungry or not! So I'm using my bad habits to help me get enough calories.

Another thing I'm not used to yet is that there's so much more food when it's healthy! Today I made curried lentils with tuna. It's pretty good, but there's a lot of it. So I ate half for lunch and half for a snack.

On the exercise front, I saved up and got EA Sports Active. I started the 30 day challenge today, and it's exhausting. I'm starting at the lowest intensity - I tried medium and couldn't complete it. I don't think it's giving me quite enough of a strength workout, since it can't do ab exercises, so on my rest days I will go back to my ballet dvd. When I get more endurance, I'd like to use Active as a supplement and still do my 20 minute cardio dvds. I just need to remember not to get impatient!

i find i am having the same problem - i need to eat but i just plain don't feel like it. normally i just wouldn't eat but i feel compelled to, in order to meet my fiber and calcium goals, at least.

keep working hard! you can do this!!!

whitewolves - you can buy canned lentils too! then you only need to heat them up. ;)

i find it hard to eat lately as well. being home 24/7 i find myself not wanting to eat, even when i am hungry just cuz i dont feel like making anything. which is really strange cuz i used to want to eat and eat and eat regardless of what time it was. when i was working, stuffing something in to my mouth was usually the only way i could manage to keep myself awake enough at work.

but this comment is actually regarding your meal. is the tuna from a can or fresh tuna? the reason i'm asking is if you could tell me how to make it cuz it sounds good and i'll only eat tuna from the can (starkist, etc). and i know what lentils are but dont know how to cook them. lol do you by chance have the meals you make listed on a sparkspeople cookbook? i've found some yummy sounding ones on there but havent had a chance to make any.

    good luck with everything emoticon
