Changing Goals

Friday, June 12, 2009

Well here it is summer already and now things in the goal department are starting to fall apart.. I have not gotten as much done as I wanted to by now, but still have made some progress. The one thing I really wanted to get done this summer was catching up all the grandchildrens scrapbooks that I have been working on..this is a major job as I have let it slip for awhile.. Now the problem is just getting started..
Seems that I have been so busy with all these church/mission projects for the kids that I have had little time for anything else so guess I am going to have to make some me time..
Also so far this year the weather has not been really good for breathing so I have not done as much cleaning out as I wanted but it is still progressing some just slower than I'd like.
The diet has been the pits. Lets face it.. I love to eat fattening foods. Have done better with the junk food, but still like the white pasta better, desserts, and my ice cream.. Need to still work on that..
This is just an update more for me than anyone as I need to be reminded of what I have and have not done.. Hope everyone has a great summer..

Hi Bonnie, I know what you mean about the weather and breathing, I am just feeling like I am drowning sometimes the air is so heavy. You will be able to get those scrapbooks in order, just TAKE the me time or just pencil in a me time like a daily date on a calendar appointment list. I also think it is awesome and amazing the time and energies that you do for the Lord. Cannot you just see Jesus sitting at the right side of God on their thrones laughing at the clowning of the troup? I am sure that you are blessed and a testimony to many, many others. The children are our future and what is ingrained in their hearts is what our future is going to be.......God's blessings to you my friend. ~hugs~

Ah, twin sister :-) Same boat here. I'm looking to try to learn to focus on little things and work on things as I come to/see them rather than plan so much and have grandiose ideas of what I'm going to accomplish. One weed at a time, LOL. emoticon

Bonnie - we are a lot alike. You have scrap booking and I have cross stitch. I have 2 or 3 projects that I need to do. We need to set a time each day so we can do our projects..
Spring cleaning is a work in progress. I not near half of what i wanted to have done. There is so much "stuff" I need to get rid of. The bad breathing days are horrible.
Ice cream and chocolate - my down fall. The carbs emoticon . I have found Blue Belle makes a no sugar added ice cream and has 90 calories for 1/2 cup. I also found sugar free hot fudge topping. I have to figure the numbers in, but I count it into my calorie and carb count. Skinny cow makes an ice cream sandwich. It's not cheap, but it is really good.
Exercise - that is another toughie. I did not go Wednesday because it was H@ll breathing.
We just need to keep the faith and keep plugging along. We will get there.

Yes, life does have a way of happening and there never seems to be enough hours in each day. You are one busy lady with all your activities. Work a little each day on the scrapbooks and they will get done. Maybe start with the oldest child, complete it and then move on to the next oldest child. They will so enjoy these treasures and they will be passed down to their children. It is amazing how many memories come flooding back by one picture. About the foods and exercise routines, I too, am a work in progress! We just need to take it each day at a time and do the best we can with that day. We will get there! Keep on just being you!
Hugs and have a very special Saturday,
    Linda

Bonnie, we think too much alike. I love my pasta, bread and ice cream. They are really hard to give up. I am determined though. As for the scrapbooks maybe you could tell yourself from such and such a time that is scrapbook time. If you commit to the time and tell your family hopefully it will work. That is a great project for your family, what lasting memories you will give them. Our youngest daughter made a scrapbook for a friend who lost their dog. Her DH provided Tina with all the pictures and she made a scrapbook up for them. Tina said she cried and cried and held Tina so tight and told her how special it was. I know your family will love yours too. Have a super day!! Hugs,Pat
