My Inspiration...A Mother has Bragging Rights...Right?

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

I was mulling over the other night about which people inspire me. Although she’s itty bitty and stands only 5’3, I certainly look up to my daughter. As she approaches her 15th birthday tomorrow, I think of all she has achieved in the last year of her young life. She entered high school, and although her grades were not stellar, her zest for trying new things expanded her horizons. She played grade 8 boys rugby, played soccer throughout the entire year on a club team, played high school soccer, was on the cross country running team and tackled wrestling.

Today, her commitment to school produced the best grades she as gotten to date, she is a fierce competitor on the wrestling mat having won many medals, still playing soccer and will be gearing up for a girls rugby league in the spring.

Now I know she is just a teenager, but if I can harness any of her energy, commitment and perseverance, I will. She’s taken risks and tried new things. She is truly and inspiration to me, and I love her immensely.
