Day Twenty - Self Efficacy

Self Efficacy - a relatively new term to me. I have been reading about it on the web. It is defined as people's beliefs about their capabilities to produce effects that affect other areas of their life, e.g weight loss, obtaining certifications or advanced degrees, etc.
SparkPeople is a very intricate program that has all the necessary psychology built in so we do not have to think about it but I am fascinated by this concept. SparkPeople had me build goals and I thought it was a worthwhile exercise but just an exercise. Now that I understand self-efficacy, I am going to revise my goals to be tighter and more specific and I am really going to work my goals. I do respond to goal attainment. I think this will really keep me pushing forward on the program. Self Efficacy resonates with me for some reason.
I think having tighter goals will help me when I have obstacles in the way. I am sure everyone has different triggers. This seem to be mine today.
