The truth about scales...

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

This "scale" thing has really been kicking my butt!!! At the end of April, I will have been on sparks for a full year. But, I have not lost weight for the past 9 months. Discouraging??? Of course!!!

However, during that time, I have learned so much, grown emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I have learned to love myself, to take time for ME and to know that I AM WORTHY of a healthier and happier life!!

Also, I have stopped looking at the scale!!! Then, I lost 2 pant sizes, my jewelry got so loose that I had to remove some of my rings and my shoes were so stretched out from when I was bigger, that I had to buy new shoes...(such a heart break...hahaha)

Yet, I seemed to still be discouraged UNTIL, I read the new thread "secrets" that is on our page "my spark points". It's at the bottom of the first section. On that, it had "scales" so, I clicked on it. There it had a section where it tells how often the spark staff weighs themselves....99% of them DON'T!!! Can you imagine that! They go by the way their clothes fit. So, what is all this hype about "scales"??

I say that we all throw them out the window and judge by our clothes, jewelry and shoes. By our energy levels and the comments of others. By the way we TRULY feel about ourselves....(not the way we tell people we feel).

I am now having people tell me how good I look. My husband noticed! Even my EX noticed!! How cool is that!!! I mean, like we are letting some little piece of metal, the size of a bread box, dictate how we feel about ourselves!! Talk about something having power over us....I think that we should boycott the purchase of scales altogether and see how much happier people would be!!!

All of those in favor say........."the scale is of the devil"....hahahahahaha
Only kidding....say:

"I am NOT going to let a small piece of metal dictate my mood and how I feel about myself!!!!"

The scale is the devil. I am not going to let it dictate how I feel about myself. Now let's look in the mirror, eye to eye, and say that 10 times!! Good for you! -Marsha

Thanks for sharing. I did learn long ago that the scale is not always to be believed as absolute truth. I just noticed this morning that one of my smaller shirts was sagging in the shoulders - oh, what joy!

Oh I have known that the scale is the devil for a looooong time. I don't weight very often either. Good for you! I think that you have "gained" so much during this past 9 months in knowledge and self esteem, that it matters not what a scale says, you mind is at peace and that is priceless!

    Excellent!!!
