What a weekend!

This has been a weekend to end all weekends. It was the weekend of my first horse show in 1.5 years.
It started out well on Friday with our schooling in the arenas we would show in the next couple of days until Faclcao spooked and left me hanging in mid air. That hurt. But unlike past incidents, this time I got my breath back and got back up and finished what we had been working on. He wasn't trying to throw me off, just got scared when another horse blasted past us.
Saturday was a good class, and we rode the best we had done to that point. It doesn't matter that the judge doesnt' agree, my coach and several other people told me it was an improvement, and it felt that way to me. Yes, there was still room for improvement, but there always is.
Sunday we had the ride of a lifetime! Despite a major error that blew 3 scores, we still finished in the middle of the class, only .03% out of the ribbons! I was in the clouds! We got our first "7" score on an extended trot, which has been my biggest challenge so far. We also earned the score I needed to start showing my freestyle ride. That is the best part.
The second ride on SUnday wasn't as good as the morning, but we got a good score and a 3rd place. I learned a lot from the show, and know where my weaknesses are, and what I have to work on.
I had a lot of fun, and earned the respect of some people who had not respected me before.
