A desire that is shared by just about every human being is to have an abundant life. To be able to live life fully, in good health, with purpose in sight, and prospering in all you do. We all have our very own gifts and wisdom to reveal and share with the world, we just have to come to the realization that we also have the freedom to do so, and to trust ourselves instead of waiting for society to give us the green light.
A big part of being a better you is taking the small steps that will lead you to the greater goal of having the abundant life you deserve. Here are a few basic ones to start with:
START FRESH - Eliminate the obstacles in your life that limit you in any way. This may be a thing, a thought or idea you've lived with all your life, it may even be an unhealthy friendship. Toss out clutter, unhealthy or harmful habits, and clean out your environment as much as possible. Clear your mind, watch what you think, replace any negative thoughts with positive affirmations, and make it an effort to have goal-oriented day dreams throught your day.
KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES AS MUCH AS YOUR STRENGTHS - Keep a log, a diary, a journal, post-it notes around the house... whatever works for you. Jot down anything that makes you happy, gives you energy, or sparks a reminder of your goals in one color, and in another color, also take note of the things, thoughts, activities, or people that zapped your energy, made you uncomfortable, sad, or feel negative in any way. Do this for at least 2 weeks and you'll get a good understanding of the things in your life that you need to either eliminate or increase.
ASSOCIATE WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE - Present or past, fact or fiction, famous or familial... keep in mind those that do what you desire to do, live how you dream to live, and are how you want to be. Consider them your muse, your inspiration. The mere act of thinking about their persona and letting that thought infiltrate your being as you make your plans and goals can totally affect your performance.
OWN YOUR DECISIONS - Something wonderful happens when you commit. Before you make a commitment, you're basically just playing with ideas. You can have all the plans, goals, projects, aspirations, dreams, and fantasies you want, but until you decide to stick to the decisions you've made and act on them accordingly, that's all they'll ever be.
Start small, and take baby steps. This isn't an overnight process, but if you just make small, constant changes, they will eventually lead to your greater goals for an abundant life.
