Hello, well thought it was time to update everyone..the cancer surgery is over and I am healing nicely from that.. Started the radiation this week and it has not gone good. Because it was in my breast, I have to lie on this table flat on my back with my arms overhead.. Well we don't know if it is vertigo or motion sickness, but every day afterwards I am sick to my stomach all day and nothing seems to help..
They suggested that I try the over the counter meds for motion sickness so I did today and it was worse than ever.. I was not suppose to see the dr. until tomorrow, but my dr. is on vacation so his partner came in today to see me.. He gave me a prescription for something that sounds like finagan. I took it at noon and by 3pm I was itching from head to toe and it felt like it was inside my skin trying to get out..so called the dr. and he said to quit taking immediately and start taking benadryl which I did.. Just got out of the shower also as that seemed to help some.
Dr, refused to give me something else until this is cleared up completely so I guess for the rest of this week and until Thursday of next week, I will be putting up with the nausea and hope I do not throw up everywhere.. I am only suppose to get 28 treatments totally and still have 25 to go.. Honestly I would rather take a whipping than go through this everyday..
And to top things off it seems that all I want to do is cry, but I have been forcing myself to do other things to keep my busy..Plus since the operation, I have been waking up with night sweats again and having hot flashes all over again.. Enough is enough.. LOL... I thank you all for your prayers and sure hope you keep them coming as I need all the help I can get.. Have a great day everyone!

I am so emoticon you have to go through this. Wish I could go through it with you. But please, please, try to hang in their.

    Try this. it might help.

    1. Drink ginger root tea for your nausea. That's what I do and it helps. nasty taste though.

    2. Sit in front of a fan if you have to sit their all night. it will help with the hot flashes.

    3. Keep a pail of cold water and a cloth in it to wipe yourself down. it will cool off your body than have to keep taking showers.

    4. Lots of cold ic water with ice cubes will cool you down from inside.

    5. Is there any cortisone ointment that you can get over the counter for the itching?

I am emoticon emoticon for you sweetie... emoticon

Sure wish I was there to hold your hand & head. Try the slice apples and saltines that Bob mentioned and hope they help, know when I had morning sickness while pregnant with the kids the saltines helped, course that's been many years ago! Keep that positive attitude going along with your sense of humor. We are all thinking of you and sending lots of prayers your way.

Bonnie, I wish I could take away your nausea. When I lost my sense of balance for a while, I was told to sit and munch on sliced apple and saltines. No side effects. It may sound stupid but it does work for motion sickness. It took away the nausea.
