Somedays I make it to the gym as it opens at 5:30 am. That is a feat for me, who used to never work out. But I like to get it out of the way, cross it off of the do-to list early in the day to make sure it gets done.

So when I'm running on the treadmill and I've already logged a mile and a half by 6 am, I look at the people walking in and secretly think: "Slackers!"

Of course I don't really mean it. Making it to the gym at all is a feat, let alone at the butt crack of dawn.

But it just makes me feel a little bit superior if only for that brief moment. And we all need to feel like we are great every now and then.

emoticon Agreed. That tiny feeling of superiority is all that gets me to turn down office goodies sometimes. It doesn't come from the purest part of my soul, but it helps sometimes!

Haha! Whatever motivates you. :) What gym do you go to? I've been pretty anti-gym because there are so many free ways to get in my exercise when the weather's nice, but now that I think about Canadian winters...and those dull exercise videos...and the fact that someone else could watch my kids for an hour or two while I do something just for me. Wait a minute, gyms seem like paradise! LOL
