The grasshopper

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

I first noticed it when I got back to the car park after shopping. It was on our windscreen. It was a beautiful bright green grasshopper. I shooed it away.
Later in the day we went to the tip and there sitting on the windscreen was the grasshopper. Following that, we went for a walk round the lake. When we got back to the car, there it was still sitting on the windscreen, near the wipers. The poor little thing clung to the wipers all the way down the motorway to back to our house.
So when we got home, I took him off the car and put him in the garden. He should be happy there.

Its another glorious day here. Wall to wall sunshine, no wind, quite warm.

Have a good day!
Ellen.

I hope you will see him again in your garden! The weather has just turned cool here, probably not the best time for grasshoppers. Thanks for sharing this charming happening.

You have to admire his tenacity, clinging on like that. Perhaps it was an analogy for your own "struggle" maybe it was telling you to hang on in there and don't give up, the end will be worth it.

    Bless the little fella!
I'd hate to think something bad would have happend to it.
You did well, saving it and returning it to it's freedom alive.
    Well done Ellen!

Funny how some things will cling on for dear life. I'm sure he'll enjoy munching on your garden until Winter sets in. emoticon

That grasshopper is lucky to have a new home in your garden. I think there's a lesson in persistence there somewhere. Keep sparking! emoticon emoticon
