what a difference a week makes!

I cannot believe a week has passed - and what a week!
Woke up Monday morning to a flooded house and it's been downhill ever since! Insurance didn't cover it, plumbers were here 11 hours and NEVER found the source of the leak! Dug two holes in the yard and 7 holes in the sheetrock around the house and everything that was supposed to be dry was dry! Carpet restoration people were here til 10:45 Monday night and the carpets were pulled up - padding removed, 7 carpet drying fans placed under carpet at strategic locations, plus dehumidifiers ( one the size of my washing machine!) were all roaring away for 48 straight hours...
bottom line
Plumber, by the grace of God, only charged us for an hour of labor because he couldn't find the leak!
Carpets were salvaged -
Nothing that got wet could not be dried or just pitched -
no electronics were on the carpet directly so computers were dry but had to be unplugged ( no email for a week - yuck)
nobody got hurt
I could reach the coffepot every morning
we had a place to stay( only half the house was actually wet) while there were some people without homes having to endure the icy weather - God is good.
I have realized I truly have too much JUNK! I'm taking this as God's message to de- junk my life! Time to streamline!
Although the house looks a bit like we've moved without packing our stuff first - there is much to be thankful for.

I feel for you. this has happened to me before twice. Noone could find the problem.Until on day I was trying to get a little dog from under my porch who had ran under there during a storm. I noticed water running along the foundation. After a little investagating I discovered a clogged storm drain. Six dollars worth of black drain pipe and no more leaks.

Oh my goodness! I'm sooo sorry for you. So glad you're looking on the good side. We had a hot water supply line come loose in the upstairs bath while we were on vacation a few years back. Flooded the downstairs. So believe me, I know what you're going through. Bless your heart!
