Workaholic Away From Work

Monday, January 03, 2011

So something you should know about me is, I am a workaholic. It's one of the first things on my mind in the morning, when I go to sleep at night, while I'm eating, exercising, you name it. As my husband so kindly pointed out to me yesterday I need to find a way to stop it. So, here's my commitment to myself:
1) physically disconnect from work at the end of the day. After 7pm no more checking email
2) take my nano to the gym as opposed to my iPhone...less chance of reading and responding to mail on the treadmill
3) take a full 60 minutes for lunch and not with my cell phone or my computer

I commit to this on a company holiday for the rest of this week (4 days isn't much but you've gotta start somewhere).

Keep me honest!

This is such a great start - it's so important to release ourselves from work at the end of the day. Good luck with disconnecting yourself, and I bet you will feel an enormous amount of stress relief and relaxation!

WORK?!?!? believe me it is NOT the most important thing! Ask yourself if you died tomorrow who or what would replace what you do? In the blink of an eye your job would be taken care of by SOMEONE else!

Life is to short, enjoy it, look around and be astounded by the wonder around you! emoticon
