Introducing Zoey and a Recap of Week 4 BL Challenge!

Saturday, April 02, 2011

This is Zoey and me, my first ever small dog!!!! She is a 2 y/o Jack Russell rescue and my new love!!!! Even my husband who said "no more dogs" loves her. We had to have our 14 y/o yellow lab put down after she got cancer a year ago and I've been wanting another pup ever since! She is bringing lots of joy into our lives and is sure keeping me on my walking routine!!!! Every time I turn around she is back at the door wanting to go outside. While here at our cabin I have to take her out on a leash since we don't have a fenced yard but when we get back to Florida she will be able to run and play in our big back yard! She definitely has her own personality and is a bit stubborn! I have to remind her that she is a very "portable" dog and I can just pick her up!!!

Now to the BL Challenge Week 4! Since being at our cabin it is so much harder to ALWAYS make the best choices but I'm sure trying! I don't think the emoticonwill show a loss this week but hopefully there won't be a gain!!! Like I've said in previous blogs, it is a great thing that I have this challenge and don't want to let my teammates down, to make me get this exercise and strength training in daily!!!

So hopefully I will do better this week and will try to post more blogs and keep everyone updated on my progress and especially my Zoey!!!!!

Thanks everyone for all your comments and support!! emoticon

Jack Russell's are high-energy dogs. My rottweiler is too. She comes to me an lays her head on my lap and looks at me with her brown eyes when she is waiting for me to get her leash and take her for a walk.

Thank you for rescuing her. My pets have been rescues too and I think every one or them was heaven sent.

She's so cute...and such a good name...my daughter's cat was Zoey, and she died last month. I'm glad to see the name carried on. Have fun with her!

What a happy little chappy Zoey is! I'm so glad that she is a rescue dog...she lucked out big time when she came into a dog lover's life!

What part of Florida are you in? We are WAY south on the West Coast in a charming little town called Bonita Springs. emoticon

Zoey looks like she is contented and has a personality so human. That look I know so well. She is so beautiful! I hope you have her as long as your Lab. Hope you also have a good walk with her every day. Sandi, Zoey looks really good. She looks very happy and so don't you. I think she is going to do you a lot of good. She is probably what you have needed to help with your walking and staying on line. You both make a good looking couple. Have a lot of fun with Zoey, I am sure she is full of it.

    Best wishes to you.

This is a great photo of you with Zoey! I can see how happy you are to have another furbaby in your life! I cannot imagine life without my four legged 'children'! I too have a Zoe, she is a rescued Sheltie, she is one of my foster 'failures', I was only supposed to be fostering her but she found her forever home with me!

JRT's will certainly keep you active, they are go, go, go all of the time, so much energy in such a little package! I have friends with Jack Russells and they have a time keeping them busy!

Thanks for sharing a closeup of your new little girl. She looks like a bundle of energy. Just like Angus Zoey will become a great walking companion. Angus is always game for a walk whether it is raining, snow, sleet, hail, locusts (just kidding). Sometimes I think the US mail service should hire a black lab and now maybe jack russels as well!

It's always a challenge being away from your regular routines, but you've got all those mountain trails to walk, and a new walking buddy, so you should do fine!

We're going to have to say 'my Zoey' and 'your Zoey' I guess, to keep ourselves straight. emoticon I'm going to have to let DD know that you've got the sweetest little dog with the same name as 'our' Zoey. She is an animal-lover, and will get a kick out of that. emoticon emoticon

I will be surprised if you haven't lost weight, keeping up with Zoey!!! Yes, they can be a bit stubborn, but the nice thing about that is like you said, you can just pick them up and make them do whatever!! lol It's a good thing, because I've got a very spoiled little girl, Susie, who likes to think that she's the boss sometimes!! I'm so glad things that Zoey adjusting so well and I'm so happy for you both!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
