Things are going fairly well this week. Its supposed to be pretty hot today. I know its going to make me wish I had gotten up earlier to workout. I've gone back to working out later in the morning. Its not that I don't want work out early but if I don't get enough sleep I just can't.

I'm going to be browsing the website here for lots of recipes to help out with healthy eating. Monday I made a Pear/Granola muffin from the P90X book. I was a little skeptical because I'm not a huge fan of pears but they actually turned out really good.

I think one of the things I want to look for is ways to make things like that...granola, bars, healthier snacks. Not just for myself but for my husband who packs a lunch. That and buying those sorts of things in the store gets pretty costly!

I have to be honest that I'm not expecting a whole lot when I measure June 1st. I'm on the first phase of Chalean Extreme and I do like it. I am still exercising at least 5x's a week. I also have not lost weight and my measurements may even be showing more in certain areas because of the heavier weights.

I'm not complaining, I just think that is what is happening. I'm gaining muscle and I know that isn't a bad thing. I might work on upping my cardio for the month of June. As it is after I spend about 30 or so minutes with Chalene and weights I usually do try to put in another 20-30 minutes on my exercise bike.

One cool thing I've noticed is that roll of back fat I used to have, about 3/4 of the way down my back, is disappearing. That is a really cool thing to see. I can also tell that once I get some of this fat off of my thighs, I have some really nice quad action going on. LOL.

I really do like lifting weights though. I can do some of the bigger exercises with 15 lb weights now. The only trouble with that is that I need to work on my grip because I notice my hands give out about 3/4 of the way through the exercise. In particular when Chalene has me do a double row and a deadlift with my palms facing out. I can handle the weight with the muscles I'm working but my hands just don't want to hold it after a while. I have to work on that.
