It's Officially Summer

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Yup the first day of summer is when the kids are out of school. Taking care of my 3 grandkids will keep my days full.
Have activities planned for them:
Learn about nutrition, meal planning & cooking. These are for the older 2 (boy 13, girl 10).
Learn Bible verses, this will include the boy age 3.
Learn to tie knots
Guitar Lessons for the older 2 (at a music store)
Practice Math (5th and 7th grade) and Creative Writing (Mom wants 2 hours a day on this)
Work with the 3 yr old on writing the alphabet, numbers and his name
Memorize the Preamble to the Constitution and start on the Gettysburg Address
Teach Grand-daughter how to sew on buttons and stitch a hem (boy could learn this also)
Learn about the Civil War and visit some sites.
Go swimming in the neighborhood pool.
Start walking with Grandma in the morining (gotta have something for me)
Spend a week in Tennessee in June.
Spend a week in Florida in July.

The 3 yr old will be in 4 yr pre-school for 4 days a week starting in Sept. Have to keep him motivated and in a learning mode during the summer.

Have to keep on sparking during all this also. Have to keep active and not have any couch potato, tv watching and video game playing kids this summer.

Sounds like the kids, and Grandma, will have quite a full summer. Good luck!
