Heat Wave....

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

I am honestly not built for this kind of heat we are going to have in Maryland. I love my low 80's and I love my winter weather. This super hot weather just isn't for me.

I have a few goals I've been wanting to reach by the end of the year. 1 of them is to do a pull up or chin up. Interesting enough on Facebook yesterday Beachbody posted a link where someone was discussing attaining that very goal. I got some ideas that I hadn't thought of. Things like using a chair to just get myself up there and then only using part of my foot, along with my arms of course to do the motion, or even just statically holding myself there for as long as I can to build up the muscles. Its just something I've always wanted to do and never, ever have been able to do one.

I have my oldest son signed up for football. They start training in July and man is that going to be rough. I plan on working with him getting in a little more exercise so its not a rude awakening when training starts. He likes outdoor activities but he also likes his video games LOL. I'm lucky in that he gets a big kick out of working out with his Dad so I'm thinking that should help him.

Other than that not too much interesting news for now. I'm just trying to stay in the shade till this afternoon and I'll get back in my garden LOL.

Well I'm from Maryland as well but this week I am in the Outer Banks and it is hot here. Spoke to a friend who said it was really hot at home. Hope it cools off before I come home!

Oh boy, it's hot here in NC, too.

Go get those pull-ups! What a great goal!

I'm in Pittsburgh, so I feel ya on the heat thing! I prefer temperatures between 50 and 70 degrees. Maybe 80 if it's not extremely humid on top of it. And this heat is cramping my workouts. I'm supposed to start jogging (as I leave for boot camp in a few months & can barely jog a block! EEP!), but with the heat/humidity as it is, I can't get out there without feeling light-headed after 5 minutes.

Looking forward to our local pools opening so I can do laps at least. Outdoor exercise while staying sweat-free! WHOO HOO! hahaha

    Good luck this summer!
