What you put in is what you'll get out...

Especially when it comes to effort and weight loss. Don't get me wrong there are days where I just go through the motions. Do I feel better once I've worked out, of course. Sometimes though I'm just not raring to go and running to my garage to exercise.

Last month I felt like I went through the motions. I did bring it with my weight lifting but as for how I was eating or the cardio I was getting in... well it just wasn't good enough. I wasn't pushing myself and I was eating pretty much whatever I wanted. I did good enough to maintain what I had already.

I'm at the point though where I want to see some numbers move. I don't have a medical issue where I'll loose weight more slowly. To me that means I'm not doing something quite right.

This past week I have watched my calorie count. I know I'm probably not doing perfect because I'm not measuring every tiny thing out (like ketchup). I'm doing much better than just writing it down though by using my Sparkpeople phone app. I've stayed in the calorie range of 1500-1700 and magically the scale has started to move. Go figure!

Its taken me a while to get to this point. Weight loss and health is a journey. I started off small with the exercise and have been slowly building up more and more. I've watched but not been too concerned about my diet. Now I'm finally ready to watch that a little more close.

The best part is I'm not hungry and I'm eating enough calories to allow me a treat. Cause my husband brought home donuts the other night and I had one LOL! Eventually I'll get to the point of even watching that a little closer but really this calorie counting thing isn't too bad. Just by watching calorie counts I naturally make better choices. A good thing indeed.

I think you've been smart to implement changes in phases. Now that exercise is a regular part of your day, more time can be devoted to the nutrition side.
Great job on doing what it takes to get the scale to move for you!

Great job at staying in range! I think the eating and tracking part is the hardest part of this journey. I've got the workouts down, but still struggle with the other. Glad the scale is finally moving for you! Keep up the great work! emoticon
