Hey, Hey its Friday!!

Friday, July 08, 2011

Its been an odd week for me to be perfectly honest. I don't know if I've just been thrown off by staying up too late over the past weekend or just because Monday felt like Saturday..

Its been a week of reflection for me...and revamping what I'm doing. I did stay active but to say I went out and exercised with the intention of exercising? Well that didn't happen.

I did go play tennis a few times this week though and that was fun. Worked in the garden, etc. So I wasn't inactive at all but traditional exercise didn't happen.

Why? Chalene Johnson, while I love her to pieces, was boring me. I also wasn't seeing enough results for me to outweigh this fact. This is one of the reason I'm holding off on doing P90X. 1. I didn't think I was fit enough to give it a good go. and 2. Boredom is a big thing for me when it comes to exercise. I'm certainly going to keep her Extreme tapes and throw them in the mix but I think for now I'm going to go for a more traditional weight lifting set up. I'm worried if I start P90X and all I see is Tony, Tony, Tony it will be great at first and then slooooowly start to wear on me. Though I do know he would be good to throw in the mix too.

So my plans are this (for this month at least) -

M- Upper body workout, Cardio something that is 30m+ (most likely turbofire)
T- Lower body, light cardio
W - Run
Th - Upper body, Cardio 30m+
F - Lower body, light cardio
Sat - Run or Challenge day

Challenge day is going to be fun. I have all these workouts I've saved over the course of years out of magazines. Things like The 99 Challenge (google it and you'll see), or I have a bodyweight blitz I kept out of Oxygen (pushups, squats, lunges, pull ups in a circuit).

I also realize that if I'm running on Wednesday I may have to flip my upper and lower workout days depending on how wore out I make my legs.

So I feel good about this. Today I'm listing out my exercises I plan on doing and writing them down in my journal so I can keep track of weights/sets etc.

Here is to moving forward!!!
