!!! It has been sooo very long since I've updated you on the happenings with family life here. Today was my husband's final day as an employee(where he'd been working for the past few years) here in "our" home town. HE'D BEEN COUNTING DOWN FOR TWO WEEKS, after putting in his notice, AND IS OUT AND OUT ELATED, AS OF TONIGHT! His job there is complete.
He has had numerous phone calls over the past SEVERAL years, from his former boss in Eastern Kansas hoping he would "want" to return to work there. OH YESSS HE WANTED TO GO; however it has been me all this time, just clutching and hanging on to being here in "our" home town, with my now, "late" Grandma Lela, and ASLSO~ my Dad who is still living(and soooo my best friend). Dad being handicap, and unable to travel, getting up there in years...mercy it is going to be a difficult moment, coming down the road sooner than I'd like~hugging and kissing him, "farewell."
Also, before my husband moved back here in late 2003 from Eastern Kansas, he agreed that both of our (my) kids would be able to graduate from this high school, just as he and I did years ago, and my Dad as wellll~MANY MANY YEARS BEFORE US~ WINK! That was very important to my son~and HE DID GRADUATE IN MAY OF THIS YEAR~
Now my Son is living with his Father an hour west of here, and earned a golf scholarship for the vocational school he will start attending any day now studying/learning diesel mechanics (a 2 year program). He has mixed feelings about us moving, and heart and soul I share those feelings with him~COMPLETELY! Dalton had his 19th birthday mid June, he is spreading his wings to fly, and the nest he has known will now be nearly 6 hours East, rather just 1 hour east~of where he is currently residing. Also he and his little sister are VERY CLOSE, and thank goodness they have had a couple of weekends together~to laugh, love, cry~talk, wrestle about in a fun fashion between hugs and tears.
Our Daughter, being the "free spirit" child that she is~IS READY TO GET BOXES AND GET TO PACKING ON THE SPOT!!! Truly optimistic she is, and has always been. This is one step closer to Nashville for her, where she fully aims to end up
...AND YESSS SHE HAS MY WHOLE HEARTED SUPPORT!!!! I am currently in the process of preparing to send a letter to a vocal "manager," who has befriended Lela, who is truly amazed by her age and God given talent. He IS NOT in Kansas; however may have connections in the Topeka area, where we will be relocating to.
She has sent a couple of her friends his way, whom are now doing country music videos, studio recordings, and have EP's already in itunes for purchase. They are also having regular shows booked by him, and are soooo ON THEIR WAY AS COUNTRY MUSIC VOCAL ARTISTS!! Yep~SHE IS READY TO HIT THE CITY, and very well may be my inspiration to keep moving forward, rather than wishing and longing to remain here~with my doctors, physical therapist(I've so bonded with in over a year), counselor THE SAME, and neurologist in Colorado(whom we AIM TO KEEP), OUCH.....Leaving my Dad behind~just all in all, this small town that is "home."
Good News!!! Lela and I have a few to SEVERAL MONTHS, before we join Darrin, with the move. He will be living with one of his MANY cop buddies, and building a nest egg, that we are able to afford searching out a "safe," place for Lela to be living. That takes time, preparation, loads of questions ready for a land lord, and possibly a few changed made~as not to end up back in Children's Mercy with collapsed lungs again.
Thus would be our update. Another move on the horizon~although for Darrin FIRST~and "his gilrs," will join him down the road a some point n time. Oh NO!!! LOL FELL ASLEEP AT THESE KEYS EVERYBODY!!! IT IS 4:04 AM.....LOVELY. Off to bed I go for a couple hours, then up to start my day. Miss You All Soooo Much~I had to make this an "all nighter!!!" LOL
Now off to bed calll
