A Streak becomes a Habit. A Habit accomplishes a Goal!

As most of my Sparkfriends know, I'm not a blogger. Today, after reading a quote online by Napoleon Hill..."A goal is a dream with a deadline", and after being reminded of a committment of blogging about establishing a habit and letting others know about it, I decided that even tho' I'm late in getting started with the challenge..I would begin today in a streak of logging all my foods and drinks on the Sparkpeople Tracker. I have been hit & miss in this activity for some time. So today is Day #1 and breakfast has been logged. Onward bound for my streak to become a habit and my habit will help to meet my goal.

    Great blog on streaks!

    After reading your blog, I remembered that on Sparkpeople, we can manage streaks. So, I add some streaks : 60 min. of exercise/day, at least 8 cups of water/day, 5 fruits/veggies/day, take my vitamins, 8 hours of sleep/day, do something active outdoors each day.

    Now, I have to do it!

    What a great goal- it really makes a difference to me in weight loss result when I do use the food tracker .. my best success is when I plan the day ahead ..you are right it does take a lot of time but is well worth it - best wishes for success in making this a habit .. and very good for you to take on the challenge of blogging!! emoticon Peggy

    I applaud your effort on this. I, too, am inconsistent. Part of it is simply time. Select the food, select the portion size, select the time of day.....I wish there was a way to take a scan your food and just have it automatically enter into your log.

    I also often find it difficult to find certain things in the food database. I have to wade through tons of manufactured foods to find my simple foods--and have to figured what they name them.

    But, it DOES help to log. I will admit that.

    I LOVE this goal of yours --- I struggle with this one, but I find that I am more accountable when I log it as I go... I have to go back sometimes and log things but logging ahead of time just doesn't work for me... I vary my routine a lot.

    It's difficult to get everything logged every day unless we have our meals plan ahead of time. I am as guilty as everyone else. I have been logging what I have planned for the day. Good job Linda. emoticon

    Do you think? DUH!!!!!!!!! And yes - I am guilty of not doing it consistently any more either! GOT TO GET BACK IN THE HABIT!!!!!!!!!! emoticon

    I struggle with this one, too, but since I've been doing it a bit more consistently, I HAVE lost again. Gosh, do you think they are right about it helping?
