And the beat goes on...

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Monday I bought two "new" tires. Blew my budget out of the water, but the steel was showing through the sidewalls on my old ones...!

Yesterday, the front driver's side tire picked up a nail. Yep. One of the new ones. Flat. And I don't have a spare.

Luckily, I was at Sam's Club where there's a tire shop... they couldn't patch it for me as it turns out, a) because, the young man told me, the nail was too close to the sidewall to be repaired, and b) because apparently one of the lug studs is missing... they have rules that they are not to work on-- or even sell a tire to the owner of-- a car with wheel 'defects'... but he did at least fill it for me, and I drove on it to the place I'd bought it... and it was promptly repaired free of charge. They showed it to me... the nail was an inch and a half from the sidewall, nowhere near the edge! I wonder if the kid at Sam's thought I wouldn't look! LOL

I love Sam's Club for a number of reasons, but I've never bought tires there. I don't think I would now either... LOL

Talk about exhausting... I've got laryngitis, and though my throat isn't as sore as it was, my bronchial tubes ache when I cough.

I blame it all on Easter.

Yep, Easter.

I have a severe allergy to lilies... Brian and I went shopping for catfood last week, and just inside the store door were about fifty potted fully blooming Easter lilies. AAGH!
Brian said it was enough to give HIM a headache--can you imagine what that was like for me?

If I'd thought about it ahead of time, I'd have sent him and stayed home! LOL

I'll get over it... My doctor's nurse called me to remind me about the sensor implant tomorrow... and she could tell my voice was off so when I told her I had laryngitis, she said..."well, you don't have to talk for this!... see you there!" emoticon She's cute.

So far it hasn't raised my blood glucose levels much, but if it gets much worse it will... and I'm wondering if it will skew the test results. Hm. I'll ask when I get there.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go to bed and practice my snoring with my afternoon nap! LOL

I'm thinking my indoor furbabies are going to join me... purr purr...

be well...

Licorice and Isis as babies... how about that 1970's crushed velvet, eh? LOL

Cars! Tires! Last year when we drove to Mass. in my husband's new at the time Toyota Prius, we noticed a smell while driving along a highway in Connecticut. It started to get worse, so we finally pulled over to the shoulder of the road. Here the guard in the wheel well had come loose and the hard plastic put a gash in the tire enough to expose the steel belt. After getting the tire replaced (we had to wait 2 days for one and then pay for it)
we drove home, and went to our dealer. They said it was caused by road damage. so it wasn't covered under the warranty. Thank God we had gotten the tire insurance, so we did recover $100 of the price of the tire from that. We no longer use that dealer, and were very unhappy to have had our vacation marred by a problem with a new car.
However, we were safe, and finally got it resolved.
I hope that you will be feeling better soon, and can get things under control medically.
Enjoy your nap with your fur buddies!

I have had that happen with new tires too and it's so irritating!! I'm so glad they could fix it!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are sick. It seems like everyone is getting sick right now.

I think I may be allergic to iris or some weeds around them as when we planted them I was sneezing. I don't like the smell of lilies, though they are pretty.

Of course the beautiful babies would have crushed velvet. LOL!!

I agree that having allergies is the pits. I have to be so careful to. LOL. We have the same trouble here in Australia with people like that when you are a female. I not blonde but soemtimes get treated the same way LOL.
get better soon Kathy. I have now just got the end of my cold. Just the nose problems, cough is gone.

Glad you got your tire fixed for free. Oh . . . let me count the ways I **HARE** taking the cars in for repairs. First problem: being female equated with being STUPID in the repairers mind, usually. Second problem: being BLONDE! OMG. REALLY! I think they take 100 points off your IQ when dealing with someone blonde! OH well, sometimes (usually actually) I have fun with it!
