End of a bad week

Yesterday began sunny with sparkles dancing on the beautifully calm ocean. Another long day of workshops. Some very good and others ....well, not my favorites.

Before the 6:30 cocktail reception began I had an opportunity to walk the boards for 50 minutes. It was partly cloudy, windy and cool. Amazingly the boardwalk was crowded with people strolling and enjoying. Most of the shops were open. The smell of sausage sandwiches (a favorite of boardwalk eaters) and the honky-tonk of the cheap souvenir shops were amidst an antique dealer, a few gold and silver dealers, Ripley's Believe is or not and other food vendors. Massage shops offered foot, leg and body massages at the going price of $5 for 5 minutes or $30 for 40 minute specials. The foot massage was tempting! On the less popular sections of the boards I could hear the lulling song of the ocean waves accented with the cries of sea gulls. No cats. The name of the organization caring for the boardwalk cats is Alley Allies.

Once again I overate at dinner. Nothing off the diet, just too much of it. I'll bet my dinner on Wednesday and Thursday nites were at least 2,000 calories each (EEK!!!!). At least I avoided the Mrs. Fields cookie store in the hotel that I had to walk past constantly. Oh - and it was open 24/7. The buffet lunch today was too good. I did overeat the protein. Salmon and scallops were great.

Home late today and ready to be 100% back on plan. Tomorrow I step on the scale and find out the damage. It does no good to look back and cry over spilt milk. Renew determination, look forward and take one step at a time. Dinner is another meal and I will be extra careful when choosing my food. Exercise tomorrow and careful food choices will be a priority.

    I would have caved on the sausage sandwiches and the Mrs Fields cookies. I think you did fairly well if you passed on them at least.

    It is easy to eat too much..especially when it tastes good.
    Good for you getting on the scale and facing the damage. You can get back on track and get losing again. I find that not weighing and letting things go, caused me the most problems.

    Hey Carol, any week next to the ocean can't be all bad, in my book. I admire the way you've made the best of a bad eating situation all week, and focused on finding the occasional walk, and enjoyhing the calming ocean. Now, you can be relaxed and get back on track.
