This week I decided I'm not gonna fail. The past few weeks for me have been pretty rough, as finals are looming and I recently broke my foot, which killed all my cardio dreams. But, I think diet deserves far more credit than it's given. My downfall always happens between 5pm and midnight. I don't know what it is about "dinner time," but I use that entire time period to justify shameless eating. The "pre-dinner" and "post-dinner" snacking are single-handedly taking me down.
So I've decided to eliminate dinner as a "meal." That doesn't mean I won't be eating anything in the evenings, but I think the American notion of a giant meal at nighttime is thwarting my health efforts. The idea is to basically flip my meal pyramid.
Here's the plan:
Huge breakfast - around 500 or 600 cals
Medium lunch - around 400 cals
Unlimited freggies (within my calorie range) anytime after lunch.
Hopefully by eating the majority of my fat/protein in the earlier hours of the day, my body will have a fighting chance to use that energy, especially now that cardio for me involves limping around with this giant boot.
Also, MICHELELYNN777 has recently volunteered to be my spark buddy, and has given me extremely helpful advice so far! When I got home from the store today, I immediately chopped my vegetables and put them into tupperware and baggies, so putting together my lunch and snacks for the day will be quick and easy. In addition, I put all the breakfast stuff together so I can efficiently use my time in the mornings. This time - no excuses.
