Been Struggling but I'm Still Here

Monday, September 24, 2012

I know its been awhile since you've heard from me but I'm still here. The end of July and August I have faced probably the worst personal struggles I have ever experienced in my life so far and even though things have gotten better, its still not good YET but I am trusting, believing and "EXPECTING THE GREAT" (for all you gospel music listeners you know that song well).

As far as my healthy living, I've struggled there too. Although I have kept up my workouts, I have been eating more junk than I used to. I have never been a chocolate lover and all of a sudden I was craving chocolate. Fortunately through all of this I have not gained any weight as a matter of fact some of my clothes are even big (even though I haven't lost any weight either) - go figure.

This weekend I decided to reassess my healthy lifestyle and decided to incorporate some treats into my nutrition that way I don't deny myself and then go crazy when I do decide to splurge. I also added another mini-meal on Monday and Tuesday since I work about 12 -15 hours I realized the longer I'm up sometimes that last meal isn't enough on those days and I go to bed with my stomach growling (not good). I've also decided to cut my workouts down to about 90 minutes M-F - I was actually getting workout burnout and was dreading my workouts because I knew I had long sessions.

Even though I am in maintenance, I was still trying to lose about 5 more pounds. I think I've mentioned to you all that I'm a solid size 4 which is awesome but by the BMI chart I am still considered overweight. Even though I know I shouldn't let those numbers affect me, I just wanted so bad for that stupid chart to say I am in normal range (I know that's crazy). So I've decided to just focus on maintenance for now and I'll work on losing that last 5 pounds in 2013.

This renewed reassessment has actually given me back my SPARK and I am excited about my new workout schedule, new eating plan and just enjoying maintenance.

As for my mini-goal of increasing my push-ups to 300+ per week, well I have achieved that goal YEAH!!!!

I want to thank all my SPARKPEEPS that have been encouraging me with Sparkmails, Sparkgoodies or leaving an encouraging word or my page - thank you so much. Those gestured helped put a smile on my face when I needed it. LOVE YA.....

    Hey Tiffany!
So sorry to hear that you are going through tough times right now. I know things are going to get better for you. Just keep pushing forward. You have achieved so much. You know I look up to you for your commitment and dedication to becoming a healthier person. Those changes that you made, I'm sure will get you back excited and pumped up to stay on track. You are a size 4? Wow! That is awesome!!!! That's crazy that you are still considered overweight. You really shouldn't worry about those numbers. Everybody structure is different. Those "numbers" are too general. I think what matters is that you are happy, confident and comfortable in your skin. I think you look great and I wish you the best. Keep your head up, things will get better. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
