planning for success

Monday, September 24, 2012

This morning I decided it was time to do a time trial run to gauge my improvement over time. I was able to do a mile and a half in 17.2 minutes. I think I will run one of these time trials once a month to monitor my improvement. I have planned out my menu for the day, and I will stick to it! My calculated caloric intake for the day is 1407. I can tell that I have been consistently eating far too many calories, because writing out what I was going to eat today, I feel that I will be hungry. I think I will be able to handle being hungry if it will result in me losing weight. I plan on cycling my calories with 1700 every other day and 1300 every other day. Once a week I will give my self a day to eat at maintenance for my current weight. I am afraid of being hungry, which stems from being ill if I got hungry while I was pregnant. I need to prove to myself that that is an irrational fear. Wish me luck!

First thing is you never want to be constantly hungry. If you have everything planned, leave some room for a handful of peanuts or veggies. I carry a three cup bag of carrots with me at all times, if I'm having a day where I'm finding myself hungry, and verified that its not me being thirsty, I have a half of cup through out the day. If you are hungry you'll make a bad decision in a bind. Set yourself up for success!!
