Settled. Committed. Certain.

Friday, November 23, 2012

Something really cool happened today!!!! So I've been recommitted to working towards my goals since October. Some days still struggling through, reminding myself what I want, and avoiding temptations all while still yearning for them. In the beginning it really takes some effort, a real mental commitment. After some time passes, it really does just become more of a habit - being healthy, making
healthy choices... And the longing fades, and you become settled. Well, today I became settled, habit set in. I just really FEEL like my head is in the right place and I'm continuing to make the right decisions - but not having to convince myself of what they are, it's just coming naturally for me. I had 'rabbit food' (as a coworker so affectionately calls it, lol) for lunch while my co-workers today enjoyed Swiss Chalet and although it smelled goooood ~ I was COMPLETELY satisfied with my own lunch. Didn't feel like I was deprived of something or missing out. My diet has really become focused on eating clean - not 100% but more than ever. I've also noticed that despite not losing much weight according to the scale, my body is changing - I've been able to tighten my belt and my bra a notch! :) And my hubby noticed my body is changing too! That feels GOOD! I wish the scale would reflect it, but heck I'll take the progress in inches!!! In fact, it's kinda feeling like my body needs to catch up with my head now - I feel healthy but I'm stuck in this body with weight left to lose, inches to shed, and muscles to tone; guess I'm feeling a little impatient to see BIG results. I am doing it though, day by day and little by little - on this day, I am certain that I will achieve my goals. It feels good. :)
